Star Wars made robots stick in the imagination of people with droids such as R2-D2 and C-3PO (“Robot Facts”). Robots in Star Wars assist the main characters in the movie. Robots are essential to the world. The first electronically controlled and customisable robot was created by George Devol in 1954. This led to the basics of the robotic construction seen today. Commercial and industrial robots are currently in global utilization performing jobs cheaper or with better precision and consistency than humans. Robots are used for jobs which are deemed too dirty, dangerous, or dull for humans to complete (Bellis). There are many benefits of robotics in daily life to create a better and more aware world. Automation in many daily chores will create loads of extra time and make living that much better. Smart home hubs can set schedules for what time your lights turn on and off, ultimately making you worry free about leaving lights on. The hubs can link to numerous smart home appliances, such as thermostats, smoke alarms, or sound systems (“10 Surprising Ways Robots...”). Samsung has a chain of smart home hubs. One such hub is the Home Monitoring kit, which includes sensors for your house to better protect homes. Automation in your house can save energy which also saves money which makes life better. Robotics are at work in making the medical and educational standards improve. This robot is huminoid and how this robots works is the parents and the kid go into a room with one of the robots named ‘bubblebot’ and if the child backs away the robots face saddens. If the child comes closer the robots lights up and becomes happy. This exercise can be called a game and teaches social skills to the disabled kid (Weir). A new pipeline inspector has come to PG&E. The machine is 12 feet long, is about 250 pounds, has cameras on both sides and is composed of metal. The public utility has begun testing the cordless machine to look at almost 3,000 feet of difficult to get to natural gas pipeline (Burgarino). PG&E updated their ways of inspecting pipelines because of the public disapproval over the explosion in San Bruno, on Sept. 9, 2010, which killed eight people, injured numerous others and demolished or damaged 108 homes (Burgarino). In response to the horrible tragedy that happened on September 9, 2010, PG&E improved the quality of their work by initializing a robot that makes it way safer for them and the people around them.
