Even after me searching the web and into the darkest depths of Gallaudet University’s archive, there was no information I could extract about the Abbe Sicard family. I wasn’t able to find information about his childhood either. There are just no records of Abbe’s parents, siblings, or his early life. All that could be found about his childhood was that he was born to a Catholic household.

Some of those accomplishments are that, he became the head of the School for the Deaf. He also became the member of the Institut de France, this was a huge thing back in the day. He also wrote two important books that revolutionized the Deaf communities. The name of those books are Mémoire sur l’art d’instruction les sourds-muets de naissance and Traité des signes pour l'instruction des sourds-muets. In English that means Brief on the art of teaching the deaf-mutes of birth and Treaty of Signs for the Instruction of the Deaf and Dumb.
Abbe Roch-Ambroise Sicard was a simple man with many empowering qualities. He was a natural and powerful leader, this quality helped him lead the School for the Deaf. He was also very kind and gentle, this allowed him to communicate with kids. He also was a very dynamic person that changed the world. These were all amazing qualities, but his most powerful quality was the quality to endure. Even though Abbe Sicard nearly lost his life in the French Revolution due to the Civil Constitution of the Clergy, he still did everything in his power to make the world a better
