music was inappropriate, saying that it displayed swear words, inappropriate sexual and emotional material, and that it was a distraction and was a bad influence. Soon, people who didn't like the music began to call it the “Devils Music” since it gave them the image that Satan himself created the music. But people have their own opinions, and you have to respect that. But, it was still popular back then and now. The birth of Rock n Roll, people who changed and molded it, and the modern day rock, are all important topics, and helped society turn into what it is today.
“Everyone says that Elvis was the greatest, or Rock n Roll wouldn't be what it is today if it hadn't been for Elvis.
Well, Rock n Roll wouldn't be here at all if it hadn't been for one man, a man named Chuck Berry. Chuck berry was the one who invented Rock n Roll, the person to actually “Rock n Roll”. He invented the music in 1955, and started Rock n Roll as black music. It has been mentioned however that Rock n Roll could have started without him, but it wouldn't compare to Chucks music, just be somewhat similar. What people called his cultural ambitions, drove him to aim to the country folks, and to the white teenagers and young folk. While people call Elvis Presley to be the “King Of Rock N Roll”, people call Chuck Berry as the “ Father of Rock n Roll.” The song that started it all, “Maybellene,” was the first song of Rock n Roll, and started Rock n Roll, promoting Chuck into a contract with a record label called Chess Records. A few months later, his song hit Number 1 on the R&B Charts, and Number 5 on the pop charts. From there on out, he began to carve out a new genre of music: Rock n Roll. He created more music like "Roll Over, Beethoven," "Too Much Monkey Business" and "Brown-Eyed Handsome Man,” with many others to include as well. He was able to make music that no one could hate, except parents, likable by the whites and the blacks. people so that way they would buy them. His last album, “Rock It”, received fairly amount of positive reviews, but not as many before in the 50s and 60s. He received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and was the first Rocker inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Chuck Berry wasn't the only one who helped the growth of Rock n Roll.
Elvis Presley also helped Rock become what it is today. “As a teen, he was influenced by the church psalms and gospels sang at his local church, along with nightclub performers, and the black R&B that he heard as a teen on the streets.( https://www.graceland.com/elvis/biography.aspx)” When Elvis started his singing career with Sun Records, a legendary label in Memphis, he was a international sensation. He had such a well blend in music, he had sold over 1 million records, more than any artist. He performed at many places, starred in many movies, and was referred to as the “King of Rock n Roll”. He also made people who didn't like Rock, think that it wasn't anything to bad, and that it influenced others. But he wasn't the only one either. There was also Bob Dylan, who was known by many for his voice, people saying that it was “original and the most influential” voice people had ever heard of. His perfect voice, along with a natural talent of making his own record covers, and his ability to make music, gave him so many fans. He was so liked by all, that he received many awards, including a Nobel Peace Prize for literature, a Grammie, a presidential medal of freedom, and many more to come. There were many others like Elvis, or Chuck, or Bob, but those three are the main three that helped bringing Rock n
