Rock Narrative Essay
Now I am going to tell you have how I became friends with Bobby the rock. It all started one not so sunny day, when I went to youth group. My grandma picked Abby and me up, and took us to youth group. We waited for everyone to show up, then we sat around and talked like a bunch of hyenas. Then my uncle (youth pastor) told us which car or van to go in,we drove to the foam pit place, and talked about some random stuff. We were going to some place with a pit filled with foam cubes. When we got there my uncle told us that before we go inside, we would talk first. So as I walking to go in the grass I passed some rocks, that’s when I found Bobby the rock That day with Bobby I looked at the rock and thought of the first name that came to my mind, Bobby the rock. So I picked up Bobby the rock and said that the rock was a male, and that he was my best …show more content…

Then about two days later Bobby the rock wanted eyes, so I search for about an hour to see if there was googly eyes around the house, there was none. So the I went to see if I had any money left from Six Flags, I had none so I told Bobby the rock, that he was going to have to wait. The next day was the first day of school, so I took Bobby the rock with me. He just sat in my book bag, what else could he have done, he is just a rock. Bobby the rock then went to sleep on my headboard, and I went to youth group. Bobby the rock helped me with one of my drawings, the nicest rock I’ve ever met. I know that Bobby is a rock, but I just think it is funny to have a rock as a friend. Also I do have real friends that are not rocks, I am going to let them meet Bobby the rock soon. That is just the start of Bobby and my adventures, there will be more

Rockabilly is one of the oldest styles of rock and roll. It blends rock and roll with the music genre of bluegrass and country music, with the rhythm of blues music. It can be known for “hillbilly” music, but with the influence it has on today's music, it would not be labeled for “hillbillies”, and yet it had the beat of swing. In the book, “The Appearance of the Electric Bass Guitar: A Rockabilly Perspective” written by Roy C. Brewer, He writes about the different basses that were used in rockabilly which gave the genres sound. I was young then but the memory is fresh in my mind and in the same year a boy whose home was near our school committed suicide by overdose and there was a lot of speculation that it could be due to low self esteem. This guy was very fat and not so good looking and others used to ridicule him but I know we are all made in the image of God and I think either his pals ridiculed him or something like that. Long ago people who killed others according to our custom were thrown in very steep rocks left to die and the hyenas feasted on them. There was no burial ceremony conducted for evil people as they were an abomination.…

Bands of America was very cool this year! The bus ride went very well, only problem being that every bump hit would rewind the movie that was playing. Once we got there everything went very smoothly. I got to help the band moms put the hat boxes in order! Warm ups there were a lot of jitters in the air it seemed, but not bad ones. Waiting to get on the field was extremely nerve wracking. But, once we got on the field everything seemed nice and mellow, like we were back on the field at home, it just had a different crowd and background. I feel really good about the performance. We did the best we could do and our best got us third in our class! Heading to the hotel and getting to lay down and rest was very nice and much needed. The food was…

School of Rock. Seeing those words on my calendar made me dread the weeks to come. My parents had signed me up for an activity, once again, without asking my opinion first. My friends would be going, but that didn’t make it sound better. I would be put in a band with people I didn't know. I’d always left being outgoing and meeting new people for my friends to take care of, but this week it seemed to be on my to-do list.…

My first time meeting Rockhopper was a day to remember. Days before his arrival we stood on top on the lighthouse and looked over into the water and saw this large boat floating towards us. My love for music began in middle school. At that time, I was socially awkward with very few friends. To compensate, I buried myself in music. My dedication led to many honors and admiration from my peers. However, when I got to high school, my relationship with music fundamentally changed. The arrival of an overly demanding teacher coupled with a long episode of depression robbed me of my passion to play. As time progressed, the pain I felt became too much to bear, and I became desperate for an outlet in which I could express myself positively. My quest led me to music once more, but classical was no longer the genre of choice. It was in hip hop and rap music that I found the will to overcome mental illness.…

A time I wish I had spoke up as a leader was a couple of months ago when a past concert band member wanted to be apart of marching band. This individual had not attended band camp, which is a requirement if you want to be in marching band. The individual had family issues which prevented him from attending. Once school started he went to the first football with us and played the show music during class. I thought there would be an exception due to his circumstances of not being able to attend. Later I found out that leadership and our band director would decide whether or not he would be included in our show. His drill spot had been written, now it was just if he was committed and be able to. I thought he deserved a chance, so I wanted to help him. I figured our band director would too. But at the same time, our…

It was a skiing trip I had taken for my first time with my friend. The nickname that I called him was Ginger and my nickname that he called me was Slow Poke. This skiing trip that I decided to go on with my friend Ginger was supposed to be a fun, learning experience for the both of us. While we took our first skiing lessons on a small hill, I could see the big hill in front of me with the white fluffy snow covering it. I could not wait until I could get up there to do some real skiing with my friend. After a three hour lesson of skiing, my friend Ginger and I decided we would go on the big hill because we were ready for it. Ginger was always over confident of himself and always thought he was better than anyone at anything and could beat them at anything. He couldn’t wait to get up that hill so he could show off his new “moves” he learned during our training session.…

When Bob and I got off the bus that day, I thought it was going to be like every other day. I didn’t know that it was going to be our last day as friends. We went to his house and started doing homework, like normal. I wasn’t the smartest, so Bob usually ended up helping me on most of my work. Then, he stopped in the middle of a problem and said there was something he needed to tell me. I kind of just laughed. I thought he was just joking.…
