This just in. Carolyn Bryant, the woman who accused fourteen-year-old African American Emmett Till (which led to his tragic death) in 1955 for flirting with her recently came forward in 2017 with the truth. The truth is, the accusations she made were false. Bryant admitted this is a published book called “The Blood of Emmett Till” by Timothy B. Tyson. After making these allegations, she always remained quiet about it. Even still to this day, her whereabouts are a secret. Some may say she’s still hiding from guilt, even at age eighty-two. The theme in “The Most Dangerous Game” is obvious. It is good vs. evil, because Rainsford, which is apparently the good guy in this action/ adventure stories, because he immediately disapproves of the idea of hunting humans. On the other hand General Zaroff, who is the demented bad guy, thinks that Rainsfords is ludicrous, because he denies Zaroff offer to go hunting with him when he finds out what the “animal” is that they are hunting. For instance on pg. 15 Rainsford says “Hunting? Good god, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder” this quote shows its good “Rainsford vs. evil “Zaroff”. In the “Child by Tiger” the theme is not as clear as “The Most Dangerous Game”, even though the author spends more time exploring its theme. From what I inferred the theme is that good and evil exist in everyday life, in what form it may bring. For example Dick was a deeply religious man, and nobody would ever think that he would do something like that, but his evil was shown by his actions. Not only did he show his evil, but Randy and the possess had shown their evil as well.…

Steele says, “Emmett was killed and grotesquely mutilated for supposedly looking at or whistling at a white women. Oh, how we probed his story, finding in his youth and Northern upbringings the quintessential embodiment of black innocence, brought down by a white evil so portentous and apocalyptic, so gnarled and hideous, that it left us with a felling not far from awe. By telling story and others like it, we came to feel the immutability of our victimization, its utter indigenousness, as a thing on this earth like dirt or sand or…

Emmett Till was a 14 year old African American boy who was murdered by white men. Those that knew Emmett said he was funny and responsible. He had polio at the age of 5, but was able to recover with only a slight stutter(source 3). Emmett’s nickname that only some of his friends called him was Bobo, and he was also a little chubby but he didn't let it affect him. He lived in a haven for black businesses, houses, and people, and went to a segregated school in Chicago. Emmett went to Mississippi to visit his cousins, after talking his mom into letting him go. But, that may have been the worst decision of his life, as he got murdered there because of his race, and he apparently “flirted” with a white women(source 3). Emmett was kidnapped by…

When one writes a piece of literature with the ability of choosing what to write, one is unable to prevent putting their own self into it. Depending on how well the person knows he or herself, with experiences that are unique or even relatable will determine how well their piece will impact the world. One does not want to read textbooks that are all factual, unless forced too, they want to read stories within a event. The interest goes deeper than just the surface, we may not realize it, but we crave for information. We tend to want to know more than we need or should, but that curiosity drives us to places we wouldn’t expect to find ourselves. Whether the place is good or bad, we are to deal with it the best we can. John Steinbeck capitalizes…

The theme of “The Monsters are Due on Maple Street” is that the mind of man can lead to the destruction and Rod tried to warn his audience about jumping to conclusions. In scene 3, sentence 2, it states, “there are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices, found only in the minds of men” (428). The mind is an extension of our body and when suspicion is introduced, thoughts become a selfish action as you value yourself over others. A thought can lead to suspicion that leads to hatred and that leads to destructive actions. Scene 3 also states, “The thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat as a fallout for the children, and the children unborn. Your actions today can create a fallout for everyone today and in the future.…

The theme is a central idea or message In a work of literature. In The Tragedy of Macbeth the theme is about ambition and the message is that sometimes too much ambition can drive someone into insanity. Macbeth does not learn that it’s better to wait for faith to happen. The way Macbeth learns by killing King Duncan and having to live with that guilt and in order to keep his throne he has to kill others. Resolution to this is by him getting killed and having everyone he loved die around him.
