Role Model
Dear Grandma,
To me a role model is someone in my life that has influenced me in a positive way. They help shape the way I am in the present and what I will be in the future. They are someone that I can look to for advice in a hard situation and know that they will give me words of wisdom. They will never judge me on my past but only look to help because they really do care about me. Someone who I never feel awkward talking to about my problems because I know that it will not change their opinion of me and they will not reveal any information about me to anyone. A role model should be sincere and not out for their own good but the good of others. I think that they should be older then I am because they need to have more experience than I do and need to have a deeper insight. It would be pointless to have a role model who knows less than me. There are so many people in my life that have influenced me but there is only one that I can say is truly a role model and that is my grandma Angie. I know I don’t always act like it and show it, but I appreciate you and everything you’ve done for me. When I was asked who was my role model you were the first person to come to mind. You’re always there for me whether it’s a problem with my parents or a problem with my hair. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful grandmother like you. If it wasn’t for you coming and getting me from foster care, I’d probably still be there. I am so thankful for you taking me into your home, as if I was your own daughter. Not only taking me in but raising me as if I was your own. Thank you for being there for me when nobody else was. You’ll never know how much I appreciate everything you do for me. If it wasn’t for you and everything you’ve done, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
Love your granddaughter,

Role models are very important when it comes to social learning because we are more likely to do what they do they do so we memorise what they do well and then we copy. This is because we look up to them and it can be very different from copying someone in the street. This is because we would rather imitate our role models because we may think they are the best in everything that they do. Personally my role model is Nelson Mandela because despite all the challenges that he faced through his life has been strong, passionate, worked hard and he stood to what he believed in no matter how much people wanted him dead. Another reason is because he has achieved a lot throughout his life, but unfortunately he’s passed away now even though this doesn’t change my mind. I want to be able to achieve similar things to him. For this reason I copy his behaviour when dealing with certain problems.…

The definition of a role model is “a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people.” I think this is the most accurate description because when you find your role model, you do your best to emulate them in any way you can. I do this for my role models and im sure other people do it for…

Being a role model is the most powerful form of education; we, the young developing adults, would be lost without it. A role model is a person that someone looks up to and wants to be like, either in the present or in the future. It can be anyone; a parent, family member, friend, or even someone off of a movie or book. The tremendous role models that I continue to learn from are my amazing mom, enlightened Coach Bird, and brilliant minded Sherlock Holmes.…

Today, Martin Luther King Jr is perceived as a hero, and a role model. Every school in America teaches of his courageousness, and of his famous “I have a dream” speech. Our children our taught of the endless fight african americans like MLK went through, one that is still going on today. Martin Luther King’s speech was heard by many, expressing his views to the people to try and show them that the way society was at that point is not how the Lord intended for it to be. But to one viewing America from afar, it is evident that his dream has not been achieved, because there is still racial segregation in our society today. The only way for Martin Luther King Jr’s dream to be realized is to put an end to the racial inequality towards blacks by…

My grandfather has and always will be my role model. I treasure many memories of him and I devoting our time to serving of our community. He led a local food pantry that required him to continually shop for food, then deliver it to his food pantry. About five years ago, together we made numerous Thanksgiving baskets. On Thanksgiving morning, we rode in his filled up truck and delivered them to countless families who may have not been able to experience the typical holiday meal without some assistance.…

When people ask me who my role model is I instantly think of my dad. In my opinion, nobody can compare to my father. While he was fighting cancer, I told myself, “There is no way he is losing this battle, he is too strong.” People constantly told me to expect the worse, however, I knew that he would pull through and beat cancer. My dad had always been there for me while I was growing up, at that moment I knew it was my turn to be there for him.…
