2. Interventions in the emergency room are inadequate because most victims often times do not end up having to seek treatment with physical abuse. Once a victim comes into the emergency room seeking treatment, the abuse has been present for a while and there is more to the story. It then makes it difficult for the intervention to occur because nurses and doctors not knowing the full story of the victim and may make false assumptions. It is useful when victims make regular visits to the doctor and that is when the intervention may be more affective.

The criminal justice system and the health care system will forever look at domestic violence different because of the main reason being each system plays a different part within domestic violence. It is the criminal justice system’s job to handle domestic violence with force and making sure the offender of abuse is convicted of the crime no matter if it is the offenders first time abusing or 20th time, the criminal justice system will charge the offender and it will result in a punishment. The health care system looks at domestic violence a different way and that is making sure the victims are being well taken care of and have the resources to get the treatment as needed. The health care system also focuses on the intervention and helping victims get out of domestic violence relationships. Both systems are useful because one takes care of the offender and the other takes care of the victim. The systems work
