The lost of faith towards the end of the novel is shown as Elie doubts god's power from preventing their suffering. As Wiesel states in the Interview, “ How grateful I should be that I am here, and look, you and I are here walking, remembering, helping, thinking of what to do with our lives without memories”(Wiesel). This shows how Elie was very grateful to be alive and seeing everything again and being able to give his testimony. This quote is important because Elie's faith has been somewhat recovered as he is is thankful for living and without his memories he could do nothing. Elie also states in the interview, “ believe me, Oprah I can’t understand either. I was the wrong person for it”(Wiesel). This quote shows how he doesn’t understand why he survived and he knows it's a miracle. This is important because miracle can only occur when you have faith in God which means that me has faith that God let him live in order for him to tell others what he went through. This is how in the interview Elie has recovered some of his faith as he is thankful to be alive and knows it was a
