Role of family in socialization and educating children
Introduction
When a child is born, he or she is completely unaware about what is going on in the outside world. Every single child needs to be taught the right things, for he or she is not born with that awareness. By himself, it will take him a long period to learn true values and social cultures of the society.
Therefore someone has to plays an important part in introducing him to the society and to change the child to social person. Even though there are number of bodies which are responsible for socializing and educating children, I believe that family is the most important agent of socializing and educating the child.
So, this assignment is about the “role of family in socialization and educating children”. In this document, it will be mention about the socialization, functions of family in socializing and educating children, roles of education in socializing children and some of the social agents.
What is socialization?
Every child is born without any culture yet. According to the Greek philosopher Mr. Aristotle, the new born child mind is like a clean white paper on which nothing is written (Goddard, 2004). When a child is born, he starts to write things to his mind from what he see and experience from the parents and the environment in the process of socialization.
So, socialization is the process by which individuals gain the knowledge, language, values and social skills to conform to the norms and roles needed for integration into a group or community. It is the process of understanding the culture of another person`s in society and
