Role Of Motivation In Macbeth

The play, Macbeth, written, and directed by William Shakespeare, is one filled with soliloquies full of motivation. Come act one, scene six Lady Macbeth speaks one of these inspirational soliloquies.She is informing her Macbeth that Duncan(current king of Scotland) shall never wake from his sleep. She continues on with all the things Macbeth must do to make this possible, like putting on a false face and letting her handle everything. Through her soliloquy, Lady Macbeth shows her assumed power over her husband and also teaches women all around that they can influence their husbands. It all begins when Lady Macbeth states”O, never Shall sun that morrow see”(Shakespeare 1.6). Lady Macbeth, is for one of the first times, stating that Duncan life must end tonight and never wake in the morning.
While at the same time revealing her presumed power. This is so because it is her idea to have the current king killed, and she feels she has it under control herself.This line breaks into Lady Macbeth's short list of how this great act will be accomplished. She continues at the end of the soliloquy with, “you shall put this night’s great business into my dispatch”(Shakespeare 1.6). She is here saying that all of the crimes of the night should be put into her influence. She clearly feels stronger than her husband because she does not feel that she can handle these crimes on his own. One issue that has always been around being the fact that women have limited power. Although, in this soliloquy, Lady Macbeth has the capability to inform women that they can have dominance over their husbands.
