The Whig Party was created by those who were against Presidents Jackson’s policies and who opposed the Democratic Party, while the Democratic-Republicans converted to Democrats. Party platforms are the foundation upon which political parties base their campaigns for the purposes of winning a political contest. It true that to a greater extent, not all aspects of the platform are used in campaigns given that some may be controversial hence working against the candidates or the party itself (Daniel D and James W, 2016). In concurrence with the opinion that it is only the party liberals who articulate the party platforms given that they are the drafters and by large they have taken a position to stand with their respective parties, this paper seeks to raise no objection to that. Many have argued that political parties only serve as vehicles to positions of leadership and for that reason politician or rather those seeking…

To this day, in our election, we have political parties. Political parties are a group of like-minded people, working together to try and win their election. Not all people would say that political parties are important, but I disagree. Some people would agree with me because without them then our elections would be very hard to keep track of. They would be difficult to track because then it would be everyone for themselves so they can’t group the votes. Most people don’t really say much much about political parties but when they do they usually ask. “Why did political parties develop?” and “Did political parties have any problems?”. These questions could easily be answered with some research.…

Political parties are destroying America in my opinion. They shape an alliance to vote an assured way whether the designated official thinks through the bill as correct or incorrect. The need for authority has lead this nation to basically a two party system. Independents and other groups get nominated on odd circumstances, but time and again it takes the backing and money to make it happen. It turns out to be even worse as the public divided these parties, such that liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats. Unquestionably this Presidential election is more or less electing who you oppose less.…

Originally political parties served to represent the two opposing viewpoints of the american people, concerning the future of their new country. However, with the progression of time, political parties grew to become large all encompassing enterprises, representative only of a minority. Few americans fall solely Democratic or Republican due to the vast array of beliefs held by each party. With the obvious disregard to people's representation, one is left to wonder: What purpose do parties serve today? Why do political parties play such an active role in the American government? Could it be…

The five agents of socialization heavily influence a person’s political beliefs and views on different issues. Family and friends can influence a person on major political positions and even affect if that person considers themselves liberal, conservative, or moderate. A liberal is open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values. A conservative holds to traditional attitudes and values and is cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion. A moderate holds moderate views in politics and sits between the extremes of liberal and conservative beliefs. Because more Americans see both sides of complex issues and see both parties as overly ideological and wish politicians would compromise more, they identify themselves as moderates than as liberals or conservatives.…

These political parties that are constantly fighting and evolving throughout history have turned from just commonly held beliefs to having party conventions and political platforms. Now almost every citizen identifies as a Democrat or Republican and we all just assume that we have some sort of insight to their beliefs based on the label that they have chosen. I feel that while political parties are helpful to groups who are trying to fight for certain policies and programs, they are detrimental to government and the nation. To the individual groups, they are helpful because there are other like-minded people within these parties who can organize and help to move beliefs into bills, people who can rally together and move the talk of change…
