The main character in Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry is a girl named Cassie who goes through a lot of trouble. At the end of the book, Cassie stops all of the mean comments and is finally free to say what she thinks. In the beginning of the book we only get Cassie's point of view. We only get Cassie's point of view when she and her brother get their book, they are unhappy because of what their books say inside the cover (Taylor 17-18). In the middle of the book we only get Cassie's point of view not anyone else's. When Cassie's dad gets shot, she is scared and mad. She is scared because she does not know if her dad is going to die or live, and she is mad at the Wallace's because of what they did to her father (Taylor 162-163). In the end of the book we only get Cassie's point of view. When the fire starts, Cassie is scared because she did not know what happened and she does not know if her dad is alright. She feels nice because her brothers are huddled around her because they are scared ( Taylor 190-210).
