The Romans left many legacies behind that inspired many people today! However, not many people think about what the most important legacy that they left us was exactly. I believe the most important Roman legacy that they gave us is Roman Architecture & Engineering. The Legacy of the Roman Empire refers to a set of cultural values and religious beliefs continuing to shape civilization. The important things that they created, making the world a different place is Roads, Arches & Stadiums, and Aqueducts. When people think about all the important things that the Romans did that benefit us today, they don't think about architecture and engineering. Architecture and Engineering, being the most important because many of the things that we have structurally in our world came from the Romans or originated off of the Romans building designs. Historians say "Rome fell but its legacy lived on" showing that Romans created and inspired so many modern day things.
Have you ever thought of how it benefits you and your future? Well, you can thank the Romans because they gave you a happier and healthier life to be able to live. The Romans gave you running water by creating aqueducts. The purpose for aqueducts being created was because the Romans needed running water into houses so then they would be able to live a happier and healthier life. Today, running water is used in every household. You can find running water in your bathroom for the shower, indoor plumbing and the toilet. In your kitchen for drinking water and sink for cleaning dishes and your hands. And then you can even find running water outside because running water is used for irrigation for your grass. The Romans creating aqueducts and using them in a day to day basis was very helpful for the future/ us. They created it so then they could live longer and stay healthier and now that helps us be able to stay the same
