Romeo And Juliet And The Nurse: Philia Love
“Friendship is not about who you have known the longest but about who walked into your life, said “I’m here for you” and has proved it.” ~ Unknown. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet and the Nurse show philia love to each other. Philia love is a friendship love or similar to a brotherly love. Throughout the drama the reader can tell they have philia love through the Nurse over exaggerating the message from Romeo to Juliet, that Juliet trusts the Nurse to keep her secret of marrying Romeo, and that Juliet bashes her parents to the Nurse and can believe that the Nurse will keep quiet about it.
The Nurse over exaggerates the message from Romeo to Juliet to show the reader in a hidden way that they have philia love towards each other.
