Love is portrayed in the balcony scene as it opens up to Juliet on a balcony while Romeo lingers below. Thinking she is alone, Juliet starts to reveal her love for Romeo. This shows that she loves him because she talks about how her family feuds cannot stop her and Romeo from being together. She says that she will be with him even if she has to take away her name. We also know that Romeo loves Juliet because he has always thought that Rosaline is the moon. He says that now Juliet is the Sun and has outshone the envious moon. He has gone from being pitiful of himself to a genuine love. This scene is set at night, suggesting that their love can only happen away from the brightness of the family feud. Also, Romeo's friend Mercutio has always mocked love with lewd expressions. When Romeo speaks of love, he describes Juliet as "An angel" and "dear saint".
