Have you ever thought to yourself, “why does every input have a output” ? or “how did such a strong love between Romeo and Juliet lead to death?”. Well I am here to tell you, that is Choices and Consequences. Choices and Consequences is a universal theme in the play Romeo and Juliet because in every act there was a outcome for the actions that had been shown, good or bad.
In the play Romeo and Juliet you see a consistency of choices that were made that had negative and positive consequences starting from Juliet and Romeo falling in love they both experienced love hurt and pain from the second that they met each other “ O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?... O swear not by the moon , the inconstant moon that monthly changes in her circled orb” (Pg.46/49 Romeo …show more content…
But they didn’t know the biggest consequence would come sooner than later. “How if, when I am laid into the tomb I wake before the time that Romeo comes to redeem me?...Here’s to my love!” (Pg.118 Romeo and Juliet) this quote is showing moments before Juliet took the poison and she is saying she hopes Romeo comes to save her and she wakes up to him and he redeems her. In conclusion Romeo and Juliet made a lot of good and bad choices and to be truthful most of those ended with negative consequences. This teaches us to always think about your actions before you do it you may not know how the consequence can affect you. This is a play that every high school student should not be required to read. Although it does show different things and does teach different lessons it should not be a mandatory requirement for students, they should be able to read on their own
