Benvolio: “Mercutio and I were walking through town, when we saw Tybalt and some of the other Capulets coming. They walked up to us and they started to ask about Romeo and if he had decided about the challenge. Romeo was walking by when Tybalt confronted him about fighting. Romeo told him that he did not want to fight. In result, Mercutio agreed to battle Tybalt.”
Interviewer: “What happened during the battle?”
Benvolio: “Since Romeo didn’t want to battle, he tried to stop it. He got in between them and drew his sword to try to hit their’s to the ground. He was too late to stop the fight though. Tybalt reached around and stabbed Mercutio. This is when Tybalt left the scene.”
Interviewer: “So if Tybalt left, how did he die here?” …show more content…
Benvolio: “After Mercutio’s death, Tybalt came back alone.
You could tell that Romeo was furious that one of his best friends had died because of Tybalt. They both started to fight one another, but after a few minutes Tybalt finally fell to his death.”
Interviewer: “Do you know where Romeo is now?”
Benvolio: “ He ran off after I reminded him that for killing Tybalt that he could die. This is because, the Prince declared death on whomever started a fight on the streets of Verona.”
Interviewer: “Do we know what the punishment is for Romeo?”
Benvolio: “Yes. He is banished from Verona, and if he ever enters Verona again, he will be
killed.”
