Romeo And Juliet: Movie Analysis

The play Romeo and Juliet has been around since it was written by William Shakespeare in 1595. The themes inferred in this play have stuck around, despite the social changes that society has went through. We watched three different movies on Romeo and Juliet, and each was set in a different time period (1968, 1996, and 2014). They had many things in common and many things different. Some of the things in common was that the Montague’s and Capulet's did not like each other at all. Also, another similarity is that Romeo and Juliet both die at the end. Although there was a little bit of difference in the way that they died, they still had the same concept of being each other’s true love and dying to be together. Another thing they had in common was that they speak the same language, which was proper English. Some of the differences that the movies had was they dressed differently in each movie. But it was also different in many ways. The concept was the same in all the movies as well as the play. About how two people can not be in love because of their family dispute. But no one knows why the Montague’s and Capulet's did not like each other at the time. But after Romeo and Juliet both died the Prince said that the families was both equal and that no one else should die. Both the Montague’s and Capulet's was mad and same that they both lost a child. And they did not like each anymore than they did but they also have to find a way to get over it and move on. They both lost someone cause they would have disapproved of the love that Romeo and Juliet had. The point to me behind Romeo and Juliet is brave but sad at the same time.
