The Friar was the root of Romeo and Juliet’s death. The Friar thought he could just make an ill-advised decision of marrying the two young children without their parents consent: ‘“this alliance may so happy prove’” he thought it would make their families reunite but in reality it was a very dimwitted choice (Shakespeare 2.4.91). Now even though he made this one wrong decision does not make him accountable for Romeo and Juliet’s death but the problem is that, that was not the only careless mistake he made: “’like death…cheeks shall fade …”’ he gave Juliet a potion that would make her appear dead. This potion made her seem dead to everyone that saw her including Romeo who already had an overwhelming dose of emotional stress which caused him to commit suicide. If it had not been for Tybalt’s short temper he would not have died nor would Romeo be exiled. Romeo had told Tybalt he would not fight him yet Tybalt engages a fight with Romeos friend “[Romeo] art a villain…therefore turn and draw” Romeo tries to reason with him but there is no hope, and when Tybalt ends up killing Romeos closest friend, Benvolio Romeo loses it and kills Tybalt (Shakespeare 3.1.59-65). If Romeo had not killed Tybalt he would not be exiled for his irrational actions and would not have caused stress on both the Montague and Capulet family. Now Even though Tybalt lost his temper and killed Romeos friend does not make him liable for Romeo and Juliet’s death but in reality it really does. When Tybalt had killed Benvolio and then had been killed by Romeo himself, Romeo had been exiled from Verona; this news got carried away to Juliet who then faked her own death and mislead Romeo to thinking that she had actually died. Since Romeo cannot bare the thought of Juliet dead he decides to commit suicide himself. If it had not been for Tybalt Romeos exile would not have had happen and nobody would have ended up
