To begin with Rosa Parks stood up for what she believed in and what she thought was right. The passage “ An Act of Courage” states “courage meant refusing to give up her seat on a public bus.” Rosa Parks lived in Montgomery, Alabama at the time and it was one of the most segregated cities at the time. The passage also states “African Americans were not allowed to use the same restrooms or water fountains as the White Residents.” Along with the restrooms and water fountains the African Americans couldn’t sit at certain parts of the bus like the front. This foundation protected the arts during World War II. The passage “Monuments Men Foundation of the Art” states “established in 1943 to protect cultural artifacts.” It also states “service members involved in this project had back rounds in art history and archeology.” This to me sounds like they are being courageous. These people were brave enough to save and protect what they loved during a world war. Not only was the war going on but Hitler was alive at this time. Also all of these members had a back round or history with the arts. For example art history and archeology as stated before. These people weren’t just doing this for the fun of it they were doing it because they loved it and more importantly had the courage to do
