“It all began on December 1, when Parks boarded a city bus and sat at the front of the "coloured" section.”(“Woman who changed a nation”) The bus driver demanded to give up her seat for a white man but Rosa had been pushed around long enough and refused to give up her seat.(“ Women who changed a nation”) However, she was arrested and four days later found guilty of disorderly conduct and the Montgomery bus boycott began.( “Women who changed a nation”).
“The entire African-American community in Montgomery
boycotted the city bus line for 381 days, until the US Supreme Court ruled the segregation of bus services unconstitutional.”(“Women who changed a nation”) Then, “On November 13, the Supreme Court handed down its decision: segregated public buses were unconstitutional.”(“Morales”) Finally, “a federal order forced Montgomery to obey the law and integrate its buses. And the boycott's success revealed the power of peaceful protest.” (“Morales”)
Rosa did many great things one of the greatest things she did was help the African Americans get their own rights and their own freedom. Rosa Parks was really one of the greatest heroes in the United States. If she didn’t have the courage to do what she had done we probably still would have been in a segregated world so thanks to her we are not.
