Officers, he stated, have access to educational and leadership opportunities. Additionally, he mentions how the military seems to distance themselves intentionally from society with uniform and rank. He reinforced my idea that officers are separate from society and have higher expectations not only in the military to be their best, but whenever they are among civilians as…
First, I must choose the harder right. I strongly believe that a good officer is one that is not afraid to go that extra mile to ensure the safety and welfare of the soldiers under his command, this is very rarely easier than just doing the minimum. Secondly, a leader must remain calm in all situations. The soldiers under the command of a nervous and indecisive leader will tend to act in the same way, they actually "inherit" some of the traits that their commanding officer portrays, both on the battlefield and in garrison. If a leader even seems indecisive and unsure of him/her self then the soldiers he/she commands will be hesitant about following the orders they are issued, and hesitation on the battlefield does nothing more than cost lives. Next, I'd like to touch on the fact that in the army talent must be promoted. One should not be afraid to promote officers that have greater aptitude than that they possess. If talent had not been promoted, then Sam Damon would not have been able to create such a positive impact on the Army, and a few more soldiers could have lost their lives in combat.…
I should be considered for the HEBF scholarship due to my hard work and determination; not just in playing sports, but for improvement. Whether it be soccer, volleyball, or track and field, I have never given up when presented with a challenge. I rather look at it as an opportunity for growth, something that can, not only strengthen my physical skills but my collaborative skills as well. Something that I have learned from participating in sports is coming up with ways to overcome obstacles and to keep trying. That means pushing myself to the limit and overpowering boundaries. The experience from participating in each sport have somewhat in some shape and form, taught me the importance of being a leader and working to together. These skills…
Being able to be loyalty is a main attribute as in the battle field you will need to have each other’s back. For example if one of your men has injured them self you will need to make him priority and stop fighting and put attention on him, because his life is more important than fighting with opponent. Being loyal also means not to turn your back in one of your team mates will they need your help. For example if your team mates have not got his army shoes you could maybe lead him some so that you both are able to work on the front line. Also if you team mate has ran out of bullets supplying him with extras that you may have is involved in loyalty.…
Why I deserve to be considered for the South Central Border All-Academics Scholarship is an easy answer, because I plan on continuing to play sports in college including dance and maybe throwing the javelin. Most students would give a heart wrenching explanation, but I go on facts. Fact one; I will be continuing to participate in dance at college. Fact two; academics do not come easy to me and so I have to work extremely hard at it. Fact three; I will work extremely hard to make the school record in javelin by throwing 109 feet. Fact four; I will be a part of dance team in college to help pay for books and tuition in college because I can not afford college otherwise. I go on facts and do not believe in lying so I will tell you that dance and…

The Total Soldier uses the army Values in both his army career and also when he is not at work recognizing that he is always an ambassador for the army and the military as a whole to the civilian population. He or she is loyal to both there country and there fellow comrades that fight the same fight as they do on a daily bases. They put the mission first before there personal needs knowing that what they are doing is bigger than them and most likely what they see on there level. The "total Soldier" shows loyalty to what he or she believes in and what our army stands for and protects, Freedom. The total soldier recognizes his duty to his country, his chain of command and his mission and will always put his duty before his personal desires. Joining the National Junior Honor Society seems like a great opportunity for me to help our community. I really want to join NJHS to share my ideas. I am a nice person to work with, hard worker, and will be happy to do any community work that needs to be done. I am a good leader, as well as a participating citizen. I have shown citizenship because I like to help people as well as teachers. I have gotten the citizenship award every year in elementary school. I have also volunteered for a summer job (still volunteering).I work not only to be the best, but also to impress myself with all that I can do. I feel I could be a great member of the Nation Honor Junior Society. I feel I am a good enough scholar to keep up my grades and be given the responsibility of being a member of NJHS. I’ve been on honor roll for the whole school year now, and I plan to stay on it. I am a hard worker at school and always trying to do my best. When I try my hardest, it shows in my outstanding work. My good scholarship is represented by my grades. I put the most important things first. I hope to keep my grades up, and maybe go to college so I can be a LPN (licensed practical nurse) when I grow up. I have the quality of leadership that I believe…
I attended Western Kentucky University for one and a half years, following graduation from Allen County Scottsville High School, while there I attended the ROTC program. I learned so much about Army tactics and how to lead men and women through most situations. I was approached about the SMP (Simultaneous Membership Program) contract by a very motivated and charismatic recruiter named SGT Bradley while going through the ROTC program. I was very much interested in becoming an officer for the Army at that time.…
The journey to become an officer in the Marine Corps will not be easy and starts right now. To get to the Military Occupational Specialty of an Infantry Officer or Aircraft Maintenance Officer , one must have excellent grades so they may be able to earn an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. While in the academy one will work towards earning a bachelors degree and will receive the proper training in order to become an officer. Once in the Academy, students have the opportunity to choose what they want to major in, although they may major in any desired field, it is recommended that they major in a degree that will assist them with their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). In addition, when in the Academy one must choose which path to follow, either become an Officer in the Navy or Marine Corps.…
