Standard protocol is not router specific. It also gives some authentication at different layer. HDLC (High-Level Data Link Control) does not support any kind of authentication. It is personalized, router-specific protocol. It cannot be used toconnect routers of different vendors.So if traffic analyzer may not recognize Cisco’s HDLC than it might not be compatible with this protocol.
