I have chosen this particular program in the interest of expanding my creative medium on digital aspects of communications technology. I have had the opportunities to hear sharings from current RTA students, professors, and representatives about what the RTA program has to offer. This particular course has sparked my interest due to the sheer passion of creating something new to entertain people of all ages. The fact that students from different programs have the opportunity to collaborate at the Transmedia Zone as well as utilize their skills at a internship placement has inspired me. This led me to the conclusion that this New Media program will allow me to achieve greater success for the future.

I have had a great deal of hands on experience with the production process within school and outside of school. Being in the Specialist High Skills Majors program has helped nurture my interest in the field of media studies. I operated many studio equipments such as the Adobe Creative Cloud programs, cameras, and control boards.

Throughout the years, I have volunteered as an Audio and Visual personnel under the guidance of people who work in the field of Information Technology. In addition to this experience, I have also been chosen to become one of the videographers and editors to capture valuable moments for a large-scale 4-day conference called Teens Conference. Under the guidance of these instructors, I was able to expand my knowledge of creative media outside of school. Over the past years, I have come to understand and appreciate the process of

Leadership, marketing, communication, and many other skills that DECA provides, are used in an abounding amount of careers. When I first joined DECA I knew I was outrageously introverted. When I first applied to colleges, I applied under the notion that I was going to become a police officer. I was going to get my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, take the police exam, and become a detective. Over time, however, I was able to take a variety of courses that would change my life forever. One of the classes that I particularly enjoyed was Child and Elder Abuse. Having worked with children in high school, volunteering at my school and church, as well as having a case worker instructor, my interest in youth care skyrocketed. In the class, I learned about the warning signs of abuse, how to write 51A’s and the step by step process of investigating complaints. From then on, my interests began to shift.…

I wish to become an occupational therapist – a low-vision occupational therapist – first and foremost based on my personal experience with overcoming adversity associated with being visually impaired myself. When I was nine months old, I was involved in a car accident that left me legally blind in both eyes. Throughout my life I have continually faced challenges – both simple and more complex – and have found a way through most. I want to be able to help those who are going through very similar circumstances as I have, and be a part of the process that sees them gain independence throughout their daily lives. It can be difficult for a health care professional in any field to truly know what their client is feeling, seeing, thinking, wanting,…

When the science teacher taught about Alexander Fleming and Louis Pasteur, I wanted to know how they determined their studies and how they chose their research methods.…

Recessions are generally believed to be caused by a widespread drop in spending. Beginning in the United States in December 2007 the industrialized world has been undergoing a recession, a pronounced deceleration of economic activity. The financial crisis has been linked to reckless and unsustainable lending practices resulting from the deregulation and securitization of real estate mortgages in the United States. Whatever the cause, there is one question that has been getting the least amount of attention; what effects does the economy have on our health as a society? The World Health Organization has defined health as being "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. So,…
