Rudi Leavor: A Brief Biography

Born in Berlin in 1926 Rudi was the son of a dentist he spent most of his childhood in Berlin with his mother and sister. Rudi went to a German school from the age of six he experienced only one anti-Semitic in his four years at primary school.One memory that he cant forget and that seeing the SA and SS men marching on his street where he lived.He thought that their marches and songs were terrifying. Rudi Leavor became President and Chairman of the Bradford Reform Synagogue in 1975 and represents the Bradford Jewish community at civic events in Bradford and further afield. At the age of 86, with the financial assistance of the local Muslim community, he was involved in restoration work on the Grade 11 listed Bradford Reform Synagogue Jani Rashid
