Hypothermia is a decrease in the core temperature below 35 degrees Celsius or 95 degrees Fahrenheit. There are various medical uses for hypothermia. Therapeutic hypothermia is the only proven effective treatment for post cardiac arrest patients. Hypothermia decreases the amount of cerebral oxygen needed and also lessens the inflammatory response post cardiac arrest. This prevents brain damage and death in patients. There were two major studies done on this topic. One in Europe and one in Australia; they showed very positive outcomes for the patients who were treated with therapeutic hypothermia. More of the patients who received the hypothermic…

1.1 It is important to remember that these six areas of learning do not work in isolation but are in fact interlinked. Good quality activities will cover more than one area of development. For example, allowing children to access the outdoors will not only support their physical development, but encourage their communication and exploration of their environment. Where a child experiences a delay in one area, it is likely to limit their learning and development in the other five...a child with cerebral palsy who experiences hand-eye coordination difficulties is likely to find completing a puzzle difficult therefore hindering her problem solving, reasoning and numeracy. It is therefore vital that settings recognise each child’s individual needs and plan holistically in order to help children achieve their full potential across the six areas of learning.…

SMART goals are a very efficient way for me to break down my long-term goals into shorter, more specific and measurable ones. Using SMART goals as a part of my personal plan helps me set milestones to see what needs to be achieved; by what time, and in which order, so I can reach my ultimate goal. They have taught me how to use a rewards system for achieving my goals. This way, I am training myself to; work now and play later, so to speak.…
Overall, what I discovered from this project is the importance of a schedule. We had to set a proper timetable and follow it. We also need to fully consider things before we actually do them, as otherwise we would lost and lose inspiration. Finally, reflecting on the positive…

Setting goals allows one to choose where they want to go in school or in a career and what they want to achieve. I will say creating a short-term SMART goal will help me improve my leadership practice. First I will communicate more with my staff about their performance and I will boost the enthusiasm of my staff. Communicating more with staff about their performance will help see where they are and they may improve on their work. Boasting the enthusiasm of my staff will really go a long way to improved productivity and decrease redundancy. By December 2016, I will communicate with all the in-house staff in other to know where they are lacking and I will set up monthly meetings with the direct manager who knows them personally to communicate their staff concern and worries. And with that, we shall know the area to improve…
In terms of my personal goals, the most prominent is to be consistently resilient in the way I structure my time. My current skill level in this area is framed around "capable but cautious" and this limits me somewhat from truly mastering resiliency. When I develop more confidence and faith in myself, I will grow more successful in implementing a more effective use of time. My friends’ who help me to care for my six year old son, are by far the most instrumental in helping me to be more successful with time sensitive endeavors. I will secure their help by offering them praise and showing my appreciation as often as I am able. By effectively supporting others, I am more likely to find it easier to delegate responsibility when I need help.…
