After watching the video about SMART goals, I had a whole new outlook on the goals that I made for myself in the past. I had to reevaluate some things. I looked over the goals that I had and knew I had to make some changes. The goals that I had made for myself a few years ago were realistic but I didn’t have a set time frame to complete them. I didn’t give any thought to how I would achieve those goals and I was not motivated to complete them. I plan on going back to the list of goals that I made for myself and turn them into SMART goals. One of my goals right now is to earn my degree in accounting, more specifically tax accounting.
My goal of wanting to become a tax accountant is a little more specific than just wanting to earn my degree in accounting. At first, I only wanted to earn an accounting degree but I didn’t do any research for it. I didn’t know it was so many different fields I could go into. I had to narrow down my search from just wanting to become an accountant to wanting to become a tax accountant. Now that I narrowed down my options I need to set forth on completing that goal in a timely manner and rewarding myself on a job well done.
Once I completed part of the goal that I had set, I should have given myself a reward or something …show more content…
If can complete one course each month I know that I will be able to achieve it. Becoming a tax accountant is a goal that I know I can complete. I already started working on it and I can’t wait until I finish. I am truly motivated now. One thing that has motivated me to go back to school and earn my degree is me working as a tax preparer. I know that I can do more in my profession and I have the potential to succeed. My best friend is also a good motivator for me. He helps me stay on top of my course work and he believes that I can do it. My clients also unknowingly motivate me. I will be able to expand my clientele once I become an
