discussed by the authors in this book and I agree with them all, however; this paper will discuss just a couple secrets and what I have learned from them. The first secret discussed in the book is the idea of "Building a wonderful workshop". In this chapter they discuss the idea of our mission being the main driving force. I believe this is one area DaVita is very effective in conveying to its teammates. DaVita’s mission is “To be the Provider, Partner and Employer of Choice.” Everywhere I have visited within the Village I have seen this mission be the corner stone of what DaVita is all about. The teammates really take pride in what they do. They understand that patient outcomes are very important yet management does not forget the importance of professional development, teammate incentive programs and work environment, all related to being the Employer of Choice. This information has been backed up by organizations like Training Magazine's “Top 125” which DaVita ranked #1 for national health care service provider for its employee training programs. One thing that fits for me in is the statement in the book that states, “If an action we’re are considering doesn’t support our mission, either directly or indirectly, we don’t do it.” This is something I plan to live by and really make sure the decisions I make are the DaVita way and they fit within our mission and core values. The book states that Santa runs a productive and…

Taekwondo in combination with attending two academically rigorous high schools, AAST and SCGSSM, have prepared me mentally and physically to take on the many challenges I have faced. Whether that has been preparing for a Linear Algebra, Micro-Molecular Biology, and Computer Science test the next day or creating a community engagement project to help reduce the crime and obesity rate in our local community - I got it done. In May 1968 soldiers of Charlie Company, 11th Infantry Brigade of the Americal Division entered the village of My Lai in Vietnam and within three hours over 500 civilians had been massacred. This horrible memory of the United States Army at war was again remembered in 2004 as the case of the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq exposed atrocities that continue to be an embarrassment for the military. The war in Iraq has also had a number of high profile cases that relate to ethical behavior, such as the court-martial for six reservists who had “scrounged” vehicles to deliver supplies to troops in the field and the scene of a Marine reacting to a perceived threat and subsequently killing an unarmed Iraqi prisoner in a mosque in Fallujah.…
