Sachin R Tendulkar
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar pronunciation (help·info) (Marathi: सचिन रमेश तेंडुलकर) (born April 24, 1973 in Mumbai) is an Indian cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket.[5][6][7] In 2002, Wisden ranked him the second greatest Test batsman of all time, next to Donald Bradman, and the second greatest one day international (ODI) batsman of all time, next to Viv Richards.[8] In September 2007, the Australian leg spinner Shane Warne rated Tendulkar as the greatest player he has played with or against.[9] Tendulkar was the only player of the current generation to be included in Bradman's Eleven.[nb 1] He is sometimes referred to as Little Master or Master Blaster.[11][12]
Tendulkar is the highest run scorer in both Test matches and ODIs, and also the batsman with the most centuries in either form of the game. The first player to score fifty centuries in all international cricket combined, he now has more than eighty international centuries.
On October 17, 2008, when he surpassed Brian Lara's record for the most runs scored in Test Cricket, he also became the first batsman to score 12,000 runs in that form of the game,[13] having also been the third batsman and first Indian to pass 11,000 runs in Test cricket.[14] He was also the first player to score 10,000 runs in one-day internationals, and also the first player to cross every subsequent 1000-run mark that has been crossed in ODI cricket history. In the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Tendulkar surpassed Australia's Allan Border to become the player to cross the 50-run mark the most number of times in Test cricket history, and also the second ever player to score 10 Test centuries against Australia, after only Sir Jack Hobbs of England more than 70 years back.[15] Tendulkar has been honored with the Padma Vibhushan award, India's second highest civilian award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India's highest sporting

Also, he recently just passed Michael Jordan to become the NBA’s all-time playoff scoring leader, and the first player to average a triple-double in NBA Finals history. This reason is because of his career statistics. Derek Jeter attended high school at Kalamazoo Central High School. According to James Adam, “As a senior Derek won many national sports awards including be named the American High School Coaches Association’s 1992 ‘High School Player of the Year,’ the 1992 ‘Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year’ and USA Today’s ‘High School Player of the Year’ (Adam). Derek Jeter also was a great basketball player but the way he dominated on the diamond in high school showed that he belong in college and someday the MLB. Also, according to James Adam, “Derek became the 28th player to reach 3,000 hits and finish with 3,465 hits over his career, which is 6th overall among other MLB players” (Adam). Therefore, this puts Derek Jeter in the top tier of players for hitting throughout all of baseball. According to (James Adam), “In 2000 Derek Jeter became the first player to be selected to the All-Star game and be the World Series MVP in the same season” (Adam). Multiple players have been the to All-Star game and some have even won multiple MVP’s but Derek was the first person ever to do it in the same year this is a record that only a few have accomplished in the history of baseball. According to (James Adam), “In September of 2009 Derek passed Lou Gehrig with his 2,722 hit, this was the most in Franchise history” (Adam). This was a major milestone in Derek’s career when he passed Lou, and later became 6th in the league. The second reason Derek Jeter is one of the greatest baseball players is because of is signature moves. According to (James Adam), “Derek Jeter is most famous for his signature jump-throw” (Adam). This is when Derek Jeter fields the ball back-handed normally and jumps up in the air and throws the ball across his body to first base. According to (James Adam), “Derek Jeter is also known for his patented inside out swing and the reputation of a player who…
