Sacrifices In The Book Thief
Max is strength, he fights throughout the story and never gives up. Max’s sacrifices throughout The Book Thief shines a light on his character and what he values most. Sacrifices bring forth regret and show another side of a character. Max, leaving his family, shows lots of character and brings for lots of regret.
A multitude of questionable decisions were made during the lifetime of Max Vandenburg. One of those decisions, leaving his family, was the most impactful choice Max ever made. This act of sacrificing his family himself shows he values self-preservation over being with his family.
