Crackdown on homeless. This happens after the “dad” shows back up after 22 years being away from Truman. He sees Truman and then the people that run the show took him away. They want to make Truman think that it was just some random homeless guy and not his “dad”. So they try to play it off like it was.

Plato's story relates to this because the prisoners did not believe that the world outside the cave was any better than the inside. When one of the prisoners were released out into the real world he was amazed but what he say. He tried to go back and tell his friends but they wouldn't believe him because they had been told all their life that the world outside the cave was not real and it was a terrible place. So they only believe in the world they are presented with. This is true for Truman himself because he grew up in a town where everything was always perfect and nothing was ever wrong. This was the only world Truman ever knew so yes he was hard at believing that there was a new world and that everything he had ever thought was the truth was actually a lie.When you have been persuaded into believing in something and you find out the truth that is actually wasn't true then you really do have a hard time believing that as opposed to the lie that you have been fed with your whole
