Safeguarding Policy Report.
The purpose of this assignment is to give a report exploring the development of a chosen policy. The policy I will be given my report on is the safeguarding policy. I will examine, analyse and provide an overview of how this system works in practice in relation to the overall safety of the children within the setting. As an Early year's practitioners, it is our duty to provide care and education to ensure children are safe and reach their full potential by ensuring continual professional development as it is vital to keep up to date with up-to-date legislation and policies.

The safeguarding policy was established to benefit the lives of children, young people and their families. To make this conceivable, changes in the quality, availability and consistency of services are needed. This will permit that every child and young person will be capable of meeting their maximum potential and as an when required with support given if necessary. As I couldn't get a safeguarding policy from a setting due being an agency worker and the settings being quite unhelpful. I decided to use the Birmingham's city councils safeguarding policy, also through my personal experiences on how the policy works effectively with the settings or in the case as I have experienced due to not even been showing one how they are not being used efficiently. I have been in a lot of nurseries and not once have I seen the safeguarding policy. If the safeguarding policy was being carried out effectively then should I not be given a copy to see, not just showing the toilets and staff room. I found an interesting suggestion in the policy in which a welcome sheet should be provided with a brief over view to ensure everyone within the setting is up to speed in the protection of the children with in the
