SAFE WORK PROCEDURES
GENERAL RULES
1. All persons driving Locomotive and Rail vehicles, supervising or controlling activities involving rail vehicle movements are subject to formal competence checks to ensure necessary training, experience and qualification prior to placement 2. Before the movement of rail or road/rail vehicles, the operator / shunter conduct Pre-Operation checks. 3. Any damage (collision, derailment etc..) to rail or road/rail vehicles are assessed by a competent person (maintenance team) before the vehicle continues to be used. 4. No people are allowed to get On/Off the rail vehicles while moving 5. Operator carrying out 'Blind' shunting operations (Propelling of the Consist) are always must supported by trained shunters by using "Radio Communication" and giving directions to the Operator from the front 6. When rail or road/rail vehicles are parked, operating keys are removed, the parking brake is applied, Wheel scotches (wheel blocks) and Target Disc are applied to prevent unauthorized movement 7. All Operators, Shunters, Supervisors and Workers who work on tracks, or are involved in train movements shall not take drugs and alcohol before and during work. 8. All the Operators should strictly Obey the Railway rules and regulation while operating rail or road/rail vehicles 9. While Operating rail or road/rail vehicles, Operator/Shunter should observe and obey the speed limit and Railway traffic Signals or any form of Handsignals
