Saint Joseph
Saint Joseph There is no certain date when Saint Joseph was born, but he was said to be born around 100 BC. Saint Joseph is one of the three people in the Holy Family, also including Mary and Jesus. Saint Joseph was the husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus. Although he was a humble person, Joseph came from a royal lineage. His genealogy marks him as a descendant of David. Saint Matthew said that Joseph was the son of Jacob, but Saint Luke said he was the son of Heli. He was a carpenter and a working man. Joseph did decide to divorce Mary, but did so quietly because he knew that Mary would be stoned if he had done it publicly. It is also assumed that Joseph might have taught carpentry to Jesus. Joseph was a man of faith, obedient to God, and did whatever God asked of him. When an angel came to Joseph in a dream telling him about the child Mary was carrying, he immediately took Mary as his wife. Joseph followed all of God’s commands, including going to Jerusalem with Mary and Jesus so that Jesus could get circumcised and Mary could get purified after Jesus’ birth. Like there are prayers for the Seven Joys of Mary and Seven Sorrows of Mary, there are also prayers for the seven joys and seven sorrows of Saint Joseph. They include prayers for a happy marriage, vocation, daily protection, happy death, and happy cases. There are also some beliefs that by placing a statue of Saint Joseph in front of a house, it will help sell the house. The date of Saint Joseph’s death is unknown, but it is said that he died on 11 AD, at 111, before the beginning of Jesus Christ’s public ministry, but it is still not sure. Joseph is the patron saint of the dying because he died in the “arms of Jesus and Mary” and he is considered the “model of the pious believer who receives grace at the moment of death, and prays especially for families, fathers, pregnant women, travelers, immigrants, house sellers and buyers, craftsmen, engineers, and working people in general.” Saint

When Adam sees that Joseph is alive, they have a reunion, Adam says, “I threw myself into his big arms and let him hold me as tight as if I was a little shaver and he be my own father” (Fast 126). This sets up the fact that Joseph is concerned about Adam and sees him as his own son. He even makes Adam share a cold meat pie with him when they are waiting for the redcoats. Joseph said, “Nothing could ever replace Moses in my heart but I could turn to him just as I would a father” (Fast 135). You can tell that when Joseph says that it makes the death of Adam’s father just a little bit easier for him. This is a turning point in the book for both Adam and Joseph because the redcoats had…

Jesus Christ “Son Of God”, four Gospels written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are the stories of his life written from their personal experience. Jesus Christ’s girth is celebrated on December 25 although in the gospels the exact day and year are not agreed upon. Jesus was born the son of Mary and Joseph. According to the gospels it is written that Mary was still a virgin when she conceived Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Born in a stable in Bethlehem, Jesus, was visited by Sheppard’s and three Kings who brought gifts to the Messiah.(Holy Bible, new Testament) Jesus grew up working as a carpenter like Joseph, when he was 12 years old he was found in the Temple talking to the rabbis about the Torah with a great knowledge about the subject. When Jesus was around 30 years old John in the river Jordan baptized him. John did not want to baptize Jesus because he was the Messiah, but Jesus repented the sins of all humanity. After his baptism, Jesus spent 40 days in the dessert and at this time, Satan tried to temp Jesus of which he was unable. After the 40 days, Jesus picked some of his disciples Simon, Andrew, James, and John; Jesus said that they did not need any worldly possessions. As Jesus moved…

In the film, Jesus became very depressed and didn’t want to go preach to the world without his guidance when Joseph died. Joseph was his role model and Jesus did look up to him. Joseph did teach him how to be a carpenter and taught him how to be a servant to God.…
