generals. St. Leo intervened for the safety of the church persuading Attila the Hun to turn back from Rome. He prayed for peace in Europe and he also prayed for world peace.
Saint Leo kept the church from falling apart. He saw that it was his duty to combat energetically the heresies which seriously threatened the church unity which even in the West. He regarded heresy as the cause of corruption and loss of unity in the church. He helped prevent the spread of heresy on Christ's divine and human natures. Another one of his major concerns was the doctrinal controversy in the Church in the East. He also sought for catholics to keep their profession of faith, and He taught the relationship between Jesus' humanity and divinity and he often talked about the Bible and the pope's relationship with Saint Peter. Pope Leo also taught that our Lord's Resurrection is the source of Catholic joy and happiness.
Saint Leo the great not only impacted the Catholic church, but also the entire world.
