According to our reading assignment, a person’s worldview is a set of beliefs about the most important issues in life. A commitment, a fundamental orientation of the heart…..(Thomas, J.C., Sosin, L., 2001). But when Paul wrote the book of Philippians’, he was reminding on how they should behave. Phillippians 2:12-13 says, “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. That portion that reads read, work out your own salvation, does not mean we should use the word of God to resolve or sit whatever personal preference we may have. I didn’t mean to drag the discussion out with scripture, but in my opinion, I felt Wendy went a too far to imply same sex attraction can be passed down from one generation to the other. The video presented a theme that people who have same sex attraction can be treated if victims seek appropriate support. I agree totally with that because as Christian counselors, if we operating in our true gift of the spirit, which is love. It will always be our main key in assisting our clients seeking help. 1 Peter 4:8 say, “Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sin.” And if Jesus loves us enough to forgive us of our sin, who are we judge our clients for the lifestyle they have chosen. Another theme I want to comment on is, when Jeff said he pretty much didn’t want to counsel anyone who that compromised his religious belief (worldview).
