I am writing as I would love to apply for the Junior Designer role currently available at Matalan.

Matalan is a hugely successful British retailer who has always been at the forefront of the Fashion Industry. As a recent Fashion Promotion graduate at the University of Central Lancashire I have discovered my passion for the retail industry and creative design during my time on the course. I also gained invaluable experience within the fashion industry as part of a placement year. I love fashion and retail and have always admired the Matalan brand. It is this admiration and drive to pursue a career in retail that has pushed me to apply for junior designer position at Matalan.

Throughout my time at university I have gained a strong confidence using programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign to create engaging promotional content within tight deadlines. These materials included: e-mail marketing, POS, POP, visual merchandising and editorial
This has given me hands on experience using my skills in an office environment. I was also able to become confident sending emails, communicating to team members and using my initiative to get work done on time and to a high standard. This has pushed me to better myself and become proactive both in a working environment and in my own time.

I am a hard-working graduate who will thrive within an exciting creative role such as this and I believe that with my current skills and driven, can-do attitude I could become a valuable member of the Matalan Creative marketing team.
