1 Good afternoon Ms Ibrahim and 10Geo6. Today I will be talking about Campbelltown and William will be talking about Badgerys Creek and how these suburbs are redeveloping. 2 Campbelltown is a suburb in Sydney, NSW. 12c The second reason is because a large proportion of Badgerys Creek is protected by long term planning and zoning restrictions. The number of viable greenfield sites that can support an airport development has been declining over the last several decades alongside population growth and Sydney’s expansion.
However, the site at Badgerys Creek has been largely protected from residential and urban development through the New South Wales Government planning restrictions in place since the 1990s. This makes it so that little to no extra land needs to be acquired which makes it an ideal place for an airport.
13a One of the main redevelopments in Badgerys Creek is the construction of the airport in which the joint study has predicted the cost of the building the airport to be 2.4 Billion dollars which will come from the private sector. But by 2050, the airport could generate between 11.6 and 15.2 billion dollars in additional economic activity. The airport has the potential to contribute 24 billion dollars to the GDP and create 60, 000 full time equivalent jobs by
