Imagine this, you live in a world where many things are being invented at the time, and these things being constructed and invented were weapons. Both the samurais and knights have revolutionized the topic of combat. The similarities between samurai and knights were greater than the differences. This is shown by looking at their armor,weapons, and choice of transportation.

The first important similarity was combat. For example, the samurais would fight with swords and so would the knights. Also, the the samurais and knight would use shock combat only during battles.
