The whole make up of economy in Europe has a part to play in Italy’s down fall. Problem Regions consist of Depressed rural regions – peripheral regions with little industry & large out-migration e.g. Mezzogiorno. And also Declining industrial areas – now suffer de-industrialization because of the decline of heavy industry e.g. Ruhr, Thames gateway. Growth Regions: Primate regions – Concentration of wealth, industry, population e.g. London. Growth regions – regions of growth e.g. golden triangle of Paris, London & Amsterdam. Islands of innovation e.g. Berlin specialize in techno-industrial fields. Small activity centers – Occur in periphery areas because of cheap labor & incentives e.g. Lisbon. The Hot Banana is an Area covering Europe’s core areas. It stretches from SE England, through N France, the Rhine, and the Ruhr & into Milan. This zone attracts company HQs and R&D and accounts for 40% of EU total output.…
In 1815, Italy had just emerged from Napoleonic rule and was completely divided into nine separate states; with different rulers and different cultures. By 1848, these states had progressed towards, albeit merely to a limited extent, some kind of national unity – national unity meaning the feeling of being united and together as one country. It could be argued that the lack of success in the reception of Giuseppe Mazzini’s ideas was the most substantial reason explaining this slow progress; though some would say that it was mostly down to factors such as the power and influence of Austria, poor communication within Italy, or its weak military. Through analysing the evidence, it would appear that the main reason for the slow progress of national unity within this time frame was poor communication.…
July 23, 2008 an odd and creepy grey “creature” washed upon the Ditch Plains beach, close to East Hampton. It looked like a cross between a turtle and a pig. What was it? Where did it come from? A new wave of colonialism took shape after the early explorations during the early modern period between the years 1450 and 1750. During this time, major European settlements developed direct empires overseas. These settlements include the colonial empires in both North and South America and in colonial possessions in Africa and Asia. Like most colonies, these three had a few similarities in addition to many contrasting differences.…
Puerto Rico has been a U.S. territory for 115 years, yet Puerto Ricans remain second-class citizens. If it becomes a state, Puerto Ricans will no longer be exempt from Federal income tax and even more people will be forced on to the public’s benefits paid by the government. There are some positive truths to look at also, as journalist Catherine Lozada points out: “Puerto Rico costs the U.S. over $22 billion a year. However, as a state it will contribute nearly $2 billion to the U.S. treasury each year.” There will always be that one question which longs to be answered, and that is: What’s keeping Puerto Rico in Political limbo?…

Passion is known as the strong emotion that motivates us to move beyond our comfort zones to achieve the potential that resides within us. Passion is a powerful driving force. Reason is the capacity of conciencely making sense of things also known as logic. Reason or logic, is the foundation of rationality. The real question is, does passion and emotion overcome the logic behind people's concience? Precisely. Daniel Golman, the author of Emotional Intelligence, once stated," Imagine placing a plank of wood on the ground and walking it's length a few times. It is easy enough. But suppose you placed it a hundred feet in the air between two buildings. You know you can walk the plank. You did it over and over again. Yet now the emotion kicks in. The what-ifs and unconcience mind supercede the concrete knowedge of your ability to walk the plank. At the end, you don't walk." Emotion has the ability to overcome reasoning, because it brings fear, memories, close-ties to the situation, and the famous what-ifs a.k.a, doubt. Bringing those forces, can cause anyone to collapse, and follow the leader, the one who could conquer what was suppose to make sense, leaving people in perplexity and doubtful of their own reactions and thoughts. Plus, it emotion takes less effort. So yes, emotion does overcome logic and reason. The overcoming of emotion is intense and very common, leaving prints all over history, in literature, but the best way to actually understand is to experience it on your own, and that's exactly what I did.…

Essentially, Italy will have to face many consequences and one of those is increasing in money spending on health care. Another possible effect of this is workforce declining because of low fertility rate and increasing in dependency rate. Moreover, over the past few years, Italy’s food consumption has been decreasing due to ageing population and low birth rate. All of these results can damage the economy seriously in near future if the situation still continues.…
