Sarah Koenig's Case Analysis
My feelings and perspective on this issue are mixed. I do support Adnan from my understanding on this case and also through Sarah Koenig's observations. I do support most of his story but I find it peculiar that some parts don't add up and they aren't always on track. So this leads to my conclusion that yes, I do believe Jay committed the murder. The thing that catches me off guard the most is the constant lies and inconsistencies. He even admits to the lies! Sarah implies, "So, at least say, six times he's told what happened, and each time details shift."There are at least six inconsistencies here but the one that stood out the most was "Jay says he refused to dig a grave for Hae. Two weeks later, he says they both dug the hole." Now, for …show more content…

There was also evidence left behind at Leakin Park, not fully identified. Here is one reason why I have such a strong feeling; Jenn drove Jay back to Westview Mall to retrieve shovels and wipe the fingerprints off. Jenn also drives him to the F&M store he worked at to dump out his clothes and boots. What was the necessity to do all of this if he claims to have nothing to do with it but only have been "associated"? He must have something to do with it if he took so many precautions. Overall, I often ask myself "why?" Why did someone want to kill Hae Min Lee? Were there past problems or conflicts? I still maintain the fact that it was Jay. In one of the first episodes, Sarah conflicts that Adnan and Jay's girlfriend, Stephanie, at the time were very close friends. Her family approved of him but not of Jay. They were also prom prince and princess. For some high school kids at the time, this could have been a reason that would aggravate Jay or could have gotten bothered. Back to my point, say he could have been covering his footsteps , (not all) but he manages to throw the blame on Adnan. I have faith that Sarah can find more clues and hopes to one day get to the bottom of this case. It still gets to me that when the cops mention Jay to Adnan, he is completely puzzled and just

The next day she goes to the cops and tells them that Jay told her Adnan killed Hae. On February 28, Jay gets interviewed by detectives, he tells them everything he knows; how Adnan showed him the body and then leads them to Hae’s car, this proves that Jay was at the scene. But Jay's story changes, the next time he is asked by the detectives he admits to assisting Adnan with burying the body, he later tells Jenn that he needs to clean up the shovels and that he needs her help. These inconsistencies make it hard to believe that he is a solid witness, he doesn't change his story once but multiple times. He tells the Cops that he is sure the murder happened at the Best Buy parking lot and that Adnan later called him from a payphone there, he draws detectives a map of the location of the payphone but when you look through the blueprints and ask the primary and recent owners, no one has ever seen a payphone outside at the parking lot. Before we go any further we need to know the time of the murder, the state's timeline is from 2:15-3:30 pm, this is when Adnan went from Woodlawn High school to Best Buy and between all this still had time to kill Hae, the problem with this is that it's nearly impossible. Investigators Sarah and Dana tested the State's timeline, they accounted for the traffic of getting out of…

Jay says in two different investigations that the call came in around 3:45 but according to the records they came in at 2:36. The records also show that Jay was not at Jenn’s house from 12pm to 3:40pm (like he and Jenn said) that leaves the following; Jay was in the area of Hae’s last-known location at the time that she went missing, and Jay has no alibi for where he was during that time period. Thus, Jay can’t be at Jenn’s house, as he and Jenn told the police over and over. The records show the phone near Woodlawn the entire time of Hae’s (probable) abduction and(or) murder. The same phone was being used to call “Jenn house” at the same time. Adnan has no reason to call Jenn. Did Jay call Jenn?…

There are many assumptions about how killed and JonBen`et and why. But If I had to pick a guilty party base on the facts of the case I would conclude that the murders would be the Father John and the mother Patricia. The author Biography (2017) highlights some key facts of physical evidence that point to the father and mother. The First factual piece of evidence is the Ransom note that was written. Handwriting experts tested the father and the mother, and the mother’s test proved inconclusive. Consequently, a practice note was also found in the home. Secondly, the duct tapes that was placed over JonBen`et mouth contained fabric from the mother’s clothes. The Third piece of evidence is the coroner report. The coroner report states that JonBen`et died of blunt force trauma to the head and then she was strangled.…

    Adnan Syed's Case Study

But, what the defense failed to bring to the court's attention is that on a fax cover sheet discovered by Susan Simpson, AT&T clearly states that incoming call information is not reliable for location of the phone, negating the prosecution's use of it being a tracking device for Adnan. Those AT&T records said Syed’s phone “pinged” a cellphone tower covering the park and nearby areas during calls he received at 7:09 p.m. and 7:16 p.m. on 13 January 1999. The calls were described by Syed’s current attorney as “the pillar of the state’s case” against him. In a court motion filed last August, Syed’s attorney, C Justin Brown, said the disclaimer should have barred prosecutors from using the cellphone records. Brown said the misuse of the records in the face of the “unambiguous warning” on AT&T’s cover sheet – and the failure of Syed’s original lawyer to do anything about this, amounted to prosecutorial misconduct and a denial of Syed’s right to due process. Although this evidence seems crucial to the case, Adnan's lawyer never brought this up at trial, one may think that his lawyer may not bring the evidence to trial is because the state didn’t present them the evidence. Also, in Jay’s interview with Intercept he states that the burial took place at midnight, making any significance the cell records had in placing Adnan near the burial site at seven p.m.…

    Hae Min Lee Case Analysis

Jay has been inconsistent with each story he has ever told. In each interview, he would change parts of the story he had previously shared. It is baffling to me that Adnan’s friend, Jay, a small town drug dealer, manages to convince the jury that he is a believable source in the murder case. It is likely that the reason the jurors had so much faith in Jay was because he was the only evidence the jury had to lean on. Other than Adnan’s handprint in Lee’s car, it would be ludicrous to say that Adnan murdered Hae Min Lee. During the first interview, Jay claimed that he heard Adnan say he wants to kill Hae Min Lee, then the next day he was shown Lee’s body and Jay helped Adnan get rid of it. In the next interview, Jay insists that Adnan mentioned a few weeks before, he would kill Hae Min Lee. Jay’s timeline, inconsistent as it is, shows that Hae Min Lee was strangled in the parking lot of Best Buy before 2:36 P.M. However, multiple eyewitnesses claimed to have seen Lee at school around that same time period of the same day. Jay also…

All evidence pointed at OJ. All through out the investigations there was a lot of direct evidence that could be used as incriminating evidence. One type of direct evidence that was found was hair, they found hair in a ball cap at Nicole Brown Simpsons house that, and also they found hair on Ron Goldman’s shirt that was consistent with OJ’s hair. There was multiple blood evidence that was direct evidence, for instance, blood drops found at the crime scene matched OJ’s blood type, which only 0.5% of the population would match this blood type. Also, there was blood found in the bronco OJ drives. Plus, when investigators searched OJ’s house, they found blood in his bedroom, and in his dirty clothes they found blood on a pair of socks that matched Nicole.…

If the kid wasn’t guilty he could have had so much evidence to prove he wasn’t including the pockets that had the hole in them or the movie ticket he had when he watched the movie at the theaters. He didn’t have the movie ticket so he couldn’t prove he was at the movies at the time of the killing. Jurors, when Mr. Toldson made his opening statement, he promised to prove to you three things. Just four hours ago, he told you that he would prove (1) that Mr. Milton was not entirely responsible for the murder of Mr. Small.; (2) that Mr. Milton was only acting in the best interest Lennie; and (3) that Lennie was simply a danger to society. As you have witnessed today, Mr. Toldson has not kept his word to you. Not only have these points been discredited, but disproved beyond reasonable doubt. Through both statements given to you today by hardworking labourers, it is evident that George wanted Lennie dead. It couldn't have been anymore obvious when Slim Burring friend to George, confessed to George saying, I quote "[Got him] Right in the back of the head...I just done it"…

First, the evidence such as blood drawn from O.J. was not handled the way it should have been, there was time when the blood was in polices possession that would have gave them plenty of time to go to O.J.'s home and spread it around his property and all over the driveway. Some of the blood found at O.J.s home did have a preservative in it that is added by police and is not in a person's blood. That shows that the blood had to have gone through the police before it got on O.J.s property, proving they planted it there.…
