Don't you know me look at me well, I am he who in fairer age ruled with grandeur and power, venerated and fear the absolute God of the Filipinos. As long as your people faithful to my holy cult, said their prayers before me. I saved them I thousand times from death, hunger, fear. Your fields overflowed with fragrant greenery the golden grain sprouted without labor from the hallowed earth then, undefiled. But now your rich land disconsolate and afflicted groans under the rule of alien people and, and slowly dies at the impious hands of a conqueror. But I shall liberate it, If you bend the knee to my cult which shines with splendor still so powerful am I that at this very moment I shall give you everything you may desire if only you adore me. But woe unto you if you are blind and distrustful for I shall open at your feet the deep abyss.
Ah, the future shall bring the disasters I reserved for your race which follows this profane Catholic religion, tragic calamities, pestilence, wars and cruel invasions by various nations in coming ages not far distant. Your people will water with their blood and tears the thirsty sands of their native land. I, in my vengeance shall unloose the untamed wind which with ferocious rage shall make the elements run riot. I shall raze the green fields of their best grain and from the tall summit of the proud mountain I shall hurl a burning river of lave, which shall desolate the towns like a futious torrent which shall uproot unnumbered trees.
Behold and note that I am Satan, the angel who in an age remote sat splendidly upon a throne his brow magnificent with light. I am he who with ferocious rancour gave battle to heaven's tyrant then vanquished in battle. I dragged your ancestors with me, with their soul's death but if the Christian's lofty faith has prevailed against my fury. I shall avenge the mortal injury on you, I am the stronger and if you do not wish to die then fall at my feet.

Short Essay on Angelology and Satanology This truth must first be established, Satan and God are not equal. God is omniscience, omnipresent, and omnipotent; Satan is not. The Bible is very clear that Satan is a created being, by God the creator. In the book of Ezekiel 28:15, Satan is described as a lesser being, “from the day that thou wast created,” showing his inequality with God. Religious Dualism is defined as, “two mutually hostile forces or beings in the world, the one being the source of all good, the other the source of all evil” (Elwell, 2001, p. 357). In more moderate circles it is referred to as “light and darkness”, or in the vein of Chinese thought, “yin and yang.” These all ascribe to the concept that, “the universe becomes the battleground for these two opposing forces” (Elwell, 2001, p. 357). This system of belief has no support or basis for its claims. The Bible, as our final authority on all things pertaining to God and Satan, shows us a very different view. Let’s address the claim that God and Satan are equals for a moment. Revelation 20:10 states that Satan will be judged by God, “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” To add more clarity, we see what God does to Satan during the judgment, “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and…

Throughout the history of the Catholic Church, many fantastical stories of spiritual beings and the afterlife have played a prominent role in conflicts of faith. From the condemnation of heresy and paganism to the bloody massacres of the crusades and the Inquisition, ideas of what is good, evil, righteous, and wicked had been drastically skewed by the Church. This essay will explore how these extreme interpretations of faith were used to increase devotion in the followers to the Church and to instill fear in the people of what awaits their soul without their guidance. It is my belief that organized religion has corrupted the beliefs of the Judaeo-Christian ethic to justify countless atrocities throughout the history of the Church.…

Americans Versus Slavery Some families are divided over what to eat for dinner, but imagine a nation divided over its different perspectives on life. In the 1800's, when cupcakes were first invented, Americans were fighting over bigger things than what flavor cupcake they wanted. In other words, the whole American nation divided over one issue, slavery. During the Civil War, slavery changed many people's thoughts about others and the government. Ultimately, during the nineteenth century, slavery affected America in many ways; it changed Americans’ beliefs about education and unity, as well as made them want to consider treason.…

Every murderer once was a child, every crook was once straight, every dictator a young boy who pretended to be a monarch of men. I used to be innocent and benevolent, pure and virtuous, just as they used to be. There was a light in my soul, a beacon of hope and kindness and made sin envy good. But then the gates of hell opened, and pain and suffering was all we knew. Some capitulated to its temptation; some became it to stop it. Others lost themselves trying to fight it. I watched my brothers suffer, watched great men become corrupted by evil lurking in the shadows. They killed themselves to kill the inequity flowing through their veins; they killed their own brethren to purge its insanity from their kindred. Soon, I was alone,…

Since then, the stories of demons and devils have intertwined with our society, leaving behind a long history that includes many appearances by Lucifer, who is often recognised as a demon to many people, to give us the image of the Devil we have today. Jeffrey Burton Russel, an American historian and religious studies scholar analyses the Devil in his own works such as; Satan: The Early Christian Tradition (1981), Lucifer: The Devil in the Middle Ages (1984), and Mephistopheles: The Devil in the Modern World (1986). In The Devil in the Modern World Russel’s third installment of his history of Devil-culture relations, he details the concept of the Devil and how it changed throughout the past centuries. Russel details the past portrayals of the Devil and creates his own definitions based off the studies, writing: “The Devil is the symbol of radical evil. But does he exist, and in what sense? The key to the question is in what sense.” (Russel 18). In what sense do we have to look at when analysing the Devil to this degree? Russel expands on this question through the roots…
