September 10, 2012 Dealing With Beliefs
What are Christianity and Satanism? Are there many conflicts of interest between both religions or can society not accept what is new? What is the conflict between Satanism and Christianity? Are these two religions so different from each other? What about the people who follow the satanic belief system? Are they Devil worshipers or do they actually just have a different philosophy for life? Both religions are extremely different in their beliefs but also much alike in others. Should Satanism be criticized? The opaque knowledge and conflicts between each one of these two religions has been around since the 60’s, which was when the official Church of Satan was founded by Anton Szandor LaVey and the conflict between the two of them became worst. The most important difference between Satanism and Christianity that is very important to know is that Satanism does not consider the existence of any form of deities, unlike Christianity. This polemic religion called Satanism “ is dedicated to the acceptance of Man’s true nature”(Gilmore). Satanists do not believe in life after death and they also see themselves as “gods” and they should be venerated and worshiped. “ Man-using his brain- invented all the Gods, doing so because many of our species cannot accept or control their personal egos, feeling compelled to conjure up one or a multiplicity of characters who can act without hindrance or guilt upon whims and desires” states (Gilmore). LaVey named his new religion “Satanism” because Satan is a symbol that best suits the nature of we who are carnal by birth, people who

Demonic possession is no laughing matter – but if you find yourself pitted against one of the 13 most dangerous demons in Hell, watch out! Anton Szandor LaVey, the former High Priest of the Church of Satan, listed the most powerful of Lucifer’s minions in his notorious book, The Satanic Bible. “Theologians have cataloged some of the names of devils in their lists of demons, but the roster which follows contains the names most effectively used in Satanic ritual,” wrote LaVey, known to his followers as The Black Pope. In addition to what he called the “crown princes” of Hell (Satan, the fallen angel Belial and the destructive sea monster Leviathan) LaVey lists other vicious demons who also occupy the “Royal Palace of…

In this paper, Rankin has presented a challenging and enriching way to point out the seriousness, and need to define and stress Satan’s tactic and schemes in this battle. This book is presents another powerful reminder, that God is actively involved in the lives of those that diligently seek him. This book has provided a great deal of advice for any Christian that is interested in living to glorify God. One bit of advice that stuck with me through reading this book, and advice that has been etched in my heart, and in my spirit as I continue on the battlefield for the Lord, he wrote, “Keep the view from the throne. If we will look at life’s experiences from God’s perspective and what His Word says, then we will not be deceived by Satan who is seeking to defeat us by his lies, distorting reality from God’s kingdom perspective. It’s not really difficult to believe God.”…

Abstract Baptism, associated greatly with the Christian religion, did not originate with John the Baptist as many would assume from well-known Bible stories. Jesus ' time, the washing of almost anything was considered as a way of cleansing and purifying to rid of sin or to make clean. Rituals and Practices are very important in Full Gospel Baptist Churches. So many things revolve around these simple but important rituals. Over thousands of years Baptism has been a tradition in the Church and Christian communities all over the world. Most rituals are performed in a church of choice by a priest who has been…

Satan, and bound him a thousand years, (3) and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him...” (Revelations 20:2-3) Satan is a created being, an archangel (a higher angel) to be more specific. He was created in a state of perfection as seen in Ezekiel 28:15, “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” Dualism teaches that these two opposing forces, God and Satan, have equal power in their…

Anton Szandor LaVey (1930—1997) was the founder of the Church of Satan, the first organized church in modern times promulgating a religious philosophy championing Satan as the symbol of personal freedom and individualism. Unlike the founders of other religions, who claimed exalted “inspiration” delivered through some supernatural entity, LaVey readily acknowledged that he used his own faculties to synthesize Satanism, based on his understanding of the human animal and insights gained from earlier philosophers who advocated materialism and individualism. Concerning his role as founder, he said that, “If he didn’t do it himself, someone else, perhaps less qualified, would have.”…

Throughout the ages, people have been looking for explanations for the unknown. Life's mysteries have fueled mankind's quest for knowledge. These journeys for the answers have often resulted in the formation of religions. Christianity has been the backbone of this nation since it's beginning, and any other religion, no matter how peaceful it may seem, is believed to be, by most Christians, evil. Once thought of as a cult and recently recognized as a religion, Wicca, in its peaceful existence, is still considered by many to be a Satanistic practice.…

In letter three, Christianity is discussed. Satan claims that humans desire to be like (their) God, yet God is nobody to emulate. God punished Adam and Eve when he really had no reason to tempt them in the first place. He also continued to punish the next generations for a crime they did not commit (in regards to the forbidden fruit). People don’t treat their children that way, yet they claim to live in the image of God. He has set rules, yet he himself does not follow…

Called “The Black Pope” by many of his followers, Anton LaVey began the road to High Priesthood of the Church of Satan when he was only 16 years old and an organ player in a carnival: “On Saturday night I would see men lusting after half-naked girls dancing at the carnival, and on Sunday morning when I was playing the organ for tent-show evangelists at the other end of the carnival lot, I would see these same men sitting in the pews with their wives and children, asking God to forgive them and purge them of carnal desires. And the next Saturday night they’d be back at the carnival or some other place of indulgence. “I knew then that the Christian Church thrives on hypocrisy, and that man’s carnal nature will out!” From that time early in his life his path was clear. Finally, on the last night of April, 1966– Walpurgisnacht, the most important festival of the believers in witchcraft–LaVey shaved his head in the tradition of ancient executioners and announced the formation of The Church Of Satan. He had seen the need for a church that would recapture man’s body and his carnal desires as objects of celebration. “Since worship of fleshly things produces pleasure,” he said, “there would then be a temple of glorious indulgence. . .”…

Within the bible there are a distinctive and shocking amount of passages referring to Satan. More specifically, the topic of misogyny and barbarity towards women, which has sparked a lot of debate. Central to this debate, are the Pauline and duetero-Pauline epistles, which hold conflicting views upon Satan and the treatment of women. Within this essay 3 different texts will be analyzed and compared in relation with this topic. 1 Timothy, a duetero-Pauline epistle presents a view of the devil that is more similar to the Book of the Watchers, than it is to 1 Corinthians, a definite Pauline epistle. This seems to support the scholarly opinion…
