Quality education nurtures human talent and creativity. It contributes to the personal and professional development of the individual, as well as to the social, cultural, economic, political and environmental development of society at large. It promotes peace, democracy, creativity, solidarity, inclusion, a commitment to a sustainable environment, and international and intercultural understanding. It provides people with the critical knowledge; abilities and skills that are needed to explore and solve problems that occur both locally and globally.
Education is a public Asset: it can fulfill its mission only if it is owned by societies as a whole and access to it is guaranteed by public authorities irrespective of their gender, faith, ethnic, cultural or economic background or physical or intellectual capacities.
Education is the only way which can bring out people from ignorance and dark society but today the condition of Indian Education system is such that it has become direction less due the conspiracy from capitalism, politics, communalism & imperialism, be it a Public Education or Private Education.
Today Indian Education system has two sectors 80% of the Students avail public education, funded and aided by government & the rest go for private institutions.
Among those 80 % who study in public institutions, in which 52% of them are Dalits, Muslims and students from other backward communities, hence Dalits, Muslims and Other backward communities become the major chunk using this service.
As per the market research, by the Year 2020. 40% of the students will use the private education system and 52% will be among dalits, Muslims and other backward communities, using public education and the rest 85 from the poor and bankrupted families.
Why Private Education is not a solution?
First of all private education comes with cost, secondly India has 32% of people living below poverty line and 35% of them living above line, 14% are from Middle Class family and the remaining are from rich & Elite family, Education is the need for everyone, almost 67% of Indian families cannot afford to send their children’s to private Schooling, hence private education cannot be a complete solution.
Why Public Education is needed?
Governments are formed & elected by the citizens of the country not with the hope of private education system, Education is the birth right of every citizen of this country and it is the duty of government to provide free and quality education, huge amount of funding goes into public education which needs to reach the end user in true value in turn citizens can contribute to the country towards the development of society at large.
Why & Who is destroying Public Education
Public Education is being destroyed for the political gain they want the citizens of this country to remain Education Illiterates so that they can’t judge and select correct government, at this current situation there are so many lakhs of thousands of literates & students with voting power who don’t know how to elect good & reliable government which can work for the development of this country they get sold for mere 500 RS -1000 during Election and again they re elect communal & corrupted political parties to dictate them for next few years, this political parties have built such student organizations to do this work professionally who can misguide students and educated youths.
Education has also become a revenue generating commodity for capitalists they want human robots and career oriented professionals from business schools who can say yes to all their demands & needs and whose entire life is only limited to office, they want a skilled resource who don’t question and who don’t think beyond four walls (E G – just like A frog in the well) Capitalist do want the government to invest in public education, instead they want the same fund to be invested in building more industries, so that they can pile their bank accounts & build the worlds expensive houses.
Imperialism has also attacked public education from grass root level they do not want our citizens and Students to get good quality education, they do not want us to think about the development of our country, they do not want social scientists, they do not want think tanks, they do not want reformers, they just want to take advantage of our disadvantage and dictate us indirectly, so that we become the puppets in their hands.
Narrow minded Communal Forces are also in the play of destroying public education, as earlier said public Education is mostly used by dalits almost 52% of them are Muslims, Dalits and other backward communities, upper & elite class do not want the lower and dead class of the society to get a quality education purpose of this that no one should be able to raise a voice against atrocities and injustice caused by them, they want to dictate this low class & use them as slaves.
They Want to make education system a medium to show the importance of upper caste & to show how cheap was & will be the lower caste, this has also become to sow hatred and erase universal brotherhood, they want people to fight internally & get involved in this on daily issues to keep them busy & occupied, they do not want us to think about bigger roles in developing country, they do not want to get replaced, they want to get replaced only by their own kind.
Sweet Poison of Private Education Seeded in the society by blaming that all the public institutions are worthless and the quality of education is
The real objective and agenda to destroy Public Education.
What should we do save public education
The education, which was supposed to liberate people, is in a state to be liberated. The liberation of public education from commercialization and privatization starts with mobilization in and outside of the campuses. This mobilization should include not only students, but general public as well. The student community of both rural and urban India should arise against the imperialist stooges in the ruling class, who masquerade as educationists and politicians. The struggle to liberate the public education from the Neo- colonial agendas should be taken into the streets and the Neo-liberal forces should be defeated by
• Awareness Campaigns /street Dramas
• Right to Question
• Home Visits (to tell them about the rights on public education)
• Seminars , Conventions
• If nothing goes well, We have to get to streets.

Education has been given high priority by India’s central and state governments and continues to grow fast. School access has been expanded by investment in school infrastructure and recruitment of teachers. In higher education too, the number of providers continues to rise rapidly. A new law enshrining the rights of all children to free and compulsory education will further lift enrolment, bringing closer the government’s goal of universal elementary education, which comprises eight years of schooling. Nevertheless, high drop-out rates and low attendance continues to be a challenge at lower levels and enrolment at higher levels remains modest by international standards. Private sector involvement is on the rise. While it helps expand education infrastructure, particularly in higher education, access has not always been assured and the availability of student loans for higher education needs to improve. Poor learning outcomes amongst school students and mediocre higher education provision call for more effective government regulation and funding arrangements. Expanding resources will help but they need to be deployed more effectively, while incentives and professional development systems for teachers need to be strengthened. In higher education the government has proposed reforms which have the potential to bring about much-needed improvements in regulatory effectiveness. Efforts should focus on reducing micro-regulation and improving institutional autonomy, in order to stimulate innovation and diversity. Increasing the number of institutions subjected to quality assessments will be important for lifting standards across the higher education system, while reform of recruitment and promotion mechanisms could help attract and retain talent in academia…

Higher education in India has largely been the preserve of the Government till recently in terms of both funding and provision of education. But for this to continue, the Government should continue to be in a position to pour in large sums of money to fund higher education. Today, the Government is unable to find the funds even to keep up its own commitment of spending 6% of GDP on education. There is also a clamour to spend more of what little funding the Government has allocated for education, on primary education than on higher education, and quite rightly so, given that many children don't even get a basic primary and secondary education today. Thus the Government spending on higher education as a percentage of overall government spending on education is only likely to decrease further in the coming years.…
