Scarlet Letter Monologue
Once upon a time, there was a small town called Everbloom. In the, dense, green, woods that bordered that town lived a fiery “orphan” girl named Scarlet. The 17 year old had blazing red hair, ash grey eyes and olive skin that, from being in the woods most of her life, faded to relatively pale. She was known to be mysterious, but really she was just like any other anti-social teen. Well, sorta. Scarlet had been an “orphan” for as long as she could remember. If you're wondering why I’m putting quotes around the word orphan it’s because she wasn’t really. I know, I know, it’s confusing, but i’ll explain soon just be patient. To get food, she gardened in a little clearing about a mile away from her designated sleeping tree because she could never …show more content…
It had been a very helpful tool in surviving on her own. She could also teleport by snapping her fingers and a doorway of any size or shape she needed would appear. As well as all that she could choose to have wings at any time and can heal any wound. Any time she wants to do any of these things she lets a red substance cover her irises and turn them red. All right you might be thinking that “there is no way she was just born with all that power” and that “she probably sold her soul to Satan”. Well you were pretty close with that last one actually. She was born with all that power and that’s because she is one of Satan’s daughters, the eighth and youngest to be exact. She’s not a one of the Seven Deadly Sins, so she’s not as well known. “Did you know that there is a quicker and much prettier path, with lots of flowers, to that area?” Jacob asked after Little Red had, for some reason, trustingly told him where she was going. “Really? Where?” she replied excited to see new sights she’d never seen before. “Keep going straight, then when you get to the fork, turn right instead of left, but unfortunately I can’t go with you” he answered, walking back whence the way he …show more content…
Scarlet let red fill her irises and pulled out two daggers from out of thin air. One dagger in each hand she pushed the door open and jumped into the cottage.
Before her was a gorgeous girl with short brown hair and just the most adorable face. The girl was tied to a chair with a blindfold and gag on. There were also a few small slashes on the girl’s cheeks. Two men were standing beside her. One was tall with fluffy brown hair and bright blue eyes; holding a knife and was in mid sentence. The other was the same man that was following her and had a cloth tied around his shoulder. He looked pretty surprised and kinda scared.
The cuts on Little Red’s cheeks stung and dripped small drops of blood down her face. Suddenly she heard a door being opened, but she couldn’t see who it was because of the blindfold over her eyes. She heard a “Swoosh” and the sound of a blade hitting flesh. Then another. Then she felt a warm liquid spray onto either side of her. Suddenly her blindfold and gag were taken off and feet and wrists untied. As soon as the blindfold came off she saw a beautiful girl a few inches shorter than her with lovely soft looking brown hair, gorgeous red eyes, and just the cutest

Throughout The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne establishes the character Pearl as having tenacity and peculiarity in her personality and traits. First, Nathaniel Hawthorne exaggerates Pearl’s qualities to establish her as an odd child and a separate person from the Puritan town she lives in. In chapter 7, after the governor asks Pearl who created her, she answers by saying ‘no one created her rather her mother plucked her from a wild rose bush near the prison.’ Hawthorne follows Pearl’s remark with, “This fantasy was probably suggest by the near proximity of the Governor’s red roses, as Pearl stood outside of the window; together with her recollection of the prison rose bush, which she had passed in coming hither.” (Pg. 77) Adults are not…

The aggressive side of her personality is shown when she talks to the girls. Obviously, she has authority over them and does not hesitate to use this to her advantage. He stabbed his end table, about half an inch deep then yanked it out as if he hadn't had it deeply embedded in the small end table. He then took out a sharpening stone and violently sharpened his knife as his sister silently watched him, leaning on their locked door. He glared at her, icy as she acted like he did nothing. He muttered, "Dearest sister..." She smirked as if she knew what he was going to say. He put the stone down and traced his finger with it, drawing blood at the slightest touch. He walked over to her and placed the flat side of the blade against her cheek and pinned her against the…

The fact that every new colony starts with a prison and cemetery immediately demonstrates how Hawthorne frowns on the ideologies of the Puritans in colonial times. Instead of focusing on majestic and wistful details of the colonial Puritans, Hawthorne focuses on the darkest details. Hawthorne also establishes the somber tone of the novel with the gloomy and harsh detail, which he expands on with the women and their gossip pertaining to Hester with malicious ideas such as branding the A on Hester’s forehead and even death.…

It was May, her chest heaving, her hands coated in the blackened blood. The acrid stench of burning flesh now filling my nostrils. With each breath, she whimpered slightly, even though she was evidently unconscious. Her face like mine had been riddled with slits and cuts from some sort of shrapnel. And one eye was swollen and purple to the point of making my stomach turn. She suddenly gasped and grabbed my wrist. I jerked in surprise as the grip tightened sending throbbing pain up my already bruised arm.…

Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, is a fantastic piece of symbolism, which delves into the society of seventeenth century Puritans, in colonial Boston. Centered on Hester Prynne, a young woman sent to the colonies by her husband, Roger Chillingworth, she is first introduced standing upon the scaffold, bearing to society her guilt of adultery through the scarlet A on her chest and her daughter, Pearl, in her arms. Here Hester refuses to confess Arthur Dimmesdale’s identity as her lover and Pearl’s father. Dimmesdale, a newly ordained minister, recognizes his transgressions, yet is still unable to admit his relation to Hester and Pearl, a secret which serves to cause restless turmoil until he confesses in the third scaffold scene. Because of his public confession in the third scaffold scene, Dimmesdale, Hester, and Pearl are each freed from two burdens that the adultery caused and that each character carries into the scene.…
