    “ Metropolis” directed by Fritz Lang is a science fiction, futuristic style film. It is about the socioeconomic differences in the futuristic city of Metropolis, between workers and the men who designed and ran the city. Its main character Freder is the son of a man who manages Metropolis and has been privileged to live a very luxurious life until he sees a beautiful women, Maria, who leads him to beneath the city, where all the workers of the city toil. He sees the cruelty and deaths of the workers and the machines that do this to them. He decides that he must become the voice of the workers. They both at one time loved the same women, Freders mother, until she chose the richer man, John, and then died during childbirth. Rotwang and his robot woman encourage the underground workers to revolt which leads to the cities power generator bursting and flooding the whole city. Finally Rotwang and Freder battle for Maria and the people of Metropolis, on top of a cathedral and Rotwang ends up falling to his death. Freder becomes the mediator between the workers and the minds of the city. In the end Freder gets his girl and there is peace between the working class and the upper class. The main message of the film is, “that the mediator between brain and muscle must be the heart”. This illustrates the differences in classes of Germany at the time between the Weimar Republic and the people. The Weimar Republic became the center of power in Germany and during the Republics regime there was much turmoil and “economic chaos.”(Ladd, 88).     We started building from the capsule and parachute. First under the capsule we added decoupler and followed that with advance S.A.S, FL-T500 fuel tank, and a LV-T45 liquid fuel engine. After that we used three symmetry tool and placed radial decouplers as low as possible and placed AV-R8 winglets on it as low as possible as well. We used decouplers because we want it to detach on our way back and used winglets because it makes best landing, they are light, and they will not band or fall off. After that we added decoupler to the bottom of our rocket. Then we moved three radial decouplers one stage up and moved liquid engine one stage down. So if we detach the rocket the wings will not fall off and engine would be already activated. Next we added tri-coupler and to that we stacked three sets of fuel tanks and underneath that we put LV-T45 liquid engine. Then we used strut connecter to hold it all together. Again we attached decouplers under the liquid engine and followed that by three set of fuel tanks, LV-T45 liquid engine and used strut connecter to hold it all together. After that we placed radial decoupler to the bottom of the second to the last stage as low as possible and on that we put another radial decoupler. Then we put solid fuel booster on radial decopler as low as possible. Next we placed tri-coupler under solid fuel booster. After that we placed three sets of nine FL-T500 fuel tanks, under that we put LV-T30 liquid fuel engines. We used LV-T30 liquid fuel engine because it is more powerful and give us the boost we need to leave the atmosphere. After that we tied whole rocket together. First we tied each of the external stacks together, then we tied each stack to the next stacks, after that we tied external stacks with internal stacks. next we need to create stage after the stage five, and add radial decouplers to the new stage . we did this because external stacks use their fuel more quickly than the internal stacks.     Abstract - Simulation of electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles over driving schedules within a full dynamic hybrid and electric vehicle simulator requires battery models capable of predicting state-of-charge, I-V characteristics, and dynamic behavior of different battery types. A battery model capable of reproducing lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride, and leadacid I-V characteristics (with minimal model alterations) is proposed. A battery-testing apparatus was designed to measure the proposed parameters of the battery model for all three battery types and simulate driving schedules with a programmed source and load configuration. A multiple time-constant battery model was used for modeling lithiumion batteries; verification of time constants in the seconds to minutes and hour ranges has been shown in numerous research articles and a time constant in the millisecond range is verified here with experiments. Lack of significant time constants in the millisecond range is validated through direct testing. A modeled capacity-rate effect within the state-of-charge determination portion of the proposed model is verified experimentally to ensure accurate prediction of battery state of charge after lengthy driving schedules. The battery model was programmed into a Matlab/Simulink environment and used as a power source for plug-in hybrid electric vehicle simulations. Results from simulations of lithium-ion battery packs show that the proposed battery model behaves well with the other subcomponents of the vehicle simulator; accuracy of the model and prediction of battery internal losses depends on the extent of tests…

    In this work, we present and investigate the performance of novel classification schemes for spectrum sensing in cooperative multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless cognitive radio (CR) networks. In this context, we consider several optimal classification schemes such as support vector classifiers (SVC), logistic regression (LR) and quadratic discrimination (QD) for primary user detection. It is demonstrated that these classification techniques have a significantly reduced complexity of implementation in practical CR applications compared to conventional likelihood based detection schemes as they do not require knowledge of the channel state information and noise power. Further, in the presence of disruptive malicious users, the proposed classifiers have a significantly lower detection error compared to conventional detection schemes. Also, we propose a novel QD classifier for blind MIMO spectrum sensing scenarios. The detection performance of the proposed classifiers is compared with existing schemes in co-operative CR scenarios. It is demonstrated through simulation of several scenarios including the presence of malicious users, Doppler shift, and carrier frequency offset that the proposed classifiers offer a robust and significantly superior alternative to existing schemes for cooperative MIMO CR spectrum sensing.…
