With a church on just about every corner it is clear that faith is crucial in our society. Faith keeps our moral compasses pointing in the right direction and gives us something to believe in when all hope has vanished. It keeps us linked to one another in a monumental way, providing us a more socially responsible attitude. We as humans have faith that whatever “higher power” or “God” we believe in is watching out for us. There is a “plan” in everything we endure; nothing is…

Being “great” like many other adjectives used to describe an individual is a subjective term. That means that great for one individual might not be great for another. This is similar to how successful for me would be to take care of my mother and father, while success for another would be to make a six figure salary a year. For me, being “great” is doing just that little bit more that separates you from the competition. A quote that I am reminded of is by Art Williams that says “The difference between average and ordinary is so small that it’s scary”. I wholeheartedly believe that he is write in saying this. A person can be successful at 99% of the things that they do in their lives and still not be great. However,…

I will support my claim that faith alone and nothing else justifies humans by arguing that humans in the natural world are inherently flawed and therefore incapable of justifying oneself without a higher power and also by contending that good works don’t provide anything in one’s justification because good works are often not done out of good intentions but rather ulterior…
