PAGE 1 CROP OVER FESTIVAL – BARBADOS
Crop over is a festival which is celebrated in Barbados. It is from June to August. Crop over is a five week summer festival and one of the islands most popular events. Its origins can be traced back to a time when Barbados was the world’s largest producer of sugar. At the end of the sugar season, there was always a huge celebration to mark the end of another successful cane harvest.
