It is with the utmost humility and gratitude that I accept this position of School Captain of Suzanne Cory High School for 2015, along with the responsibilities and roles that this position encompasses. Suzanne Cory High School has a profound ability to foster individual’s talents, and provides the environment for students to reach their full potential. The school also has the ability to embrace the individuality of students and help each and every one of us to become hopeful, proactive and resilient, in the way that obstacles are overcome and that opportunities are embraced. It is in this light that I wish to sincerely thank the Principal, Ms Peddle, all members of staff, and the student body, from years 9 to 12.

If you are to take anything away, it is this: This is your last year of high school, your last year where you will all be together, your last year before you head into what is sometimes called “real life”. So savour it, because before you know it, it will be over. Before you know it, we will be saying goodbye. Yes, it is important to achieve and aim for the highest. Do what you can to keep your grades up, but also remember to relax. When you look back ten, twenty years from now, you will not remember that SAC you failed, or that oral you did really, badly on. Your marks do not define who you are. Life is bigger than just a few exams. You will find your path to do that it is you are meant to do, in whatever time it takes. Believe in yourself, you are more capable than you think you are. Do not give up; do not be threatened by what that seems so foreign to you. I promise to you all, we will miss our past and yearn to relive the moments that seem so insignificant to us now. So don’t forget to breathe. Stress, but not too much, and just do the best you
