School Captain Speech
Ms Peddle, staff and fellow students,

It is with the utmost humility and gratitude that I accept this position of School Captain of Suzanne Cory High School for 2015, along with the responsibilities and roles that this position encompasses. Suzanne Cory High School has a profound ability to foster individual’s talents, and provides the environment for students to reach their full potential. The school also has the ability to embrace the individuality of students and help each and every one of us to become hopeful, proactive and resilient, in the way that obstacles are overcome and that opportunities are embraced. It is in this light that I wish to sincerely thank the Principal, Ms Peddle, all members of staff, and the student body, from years 9 to 12.

I would like to welcome our new year 9 students, I hope that you find your time at Suzanne Cory High School as

If you are to take anything away, it is this: This is your last year of high school, your last year where you will all be together, your last year before you head into what is sometimes called “real life”. So savour it, because before you know it, it will be over. Before you know it, we will be saying goodbye. Yes, it is important to achieve and aim for the highest. Do what you can to keep your grades up, but also remember to relax. When you look back ten, twenty years from now, you will not remember that SAC you failed, or that oral you did really, badly on. Your marks do not define who you are. Life is bigger than just a few exams. You will find your path to do that it is you are meant to do, in whatever time it takes. Believe in yourself, you are more capable than you think you are.
Do not give up; do not be threatened by what that seems so foreign to you.
I promise to you all, we will miss our past and yearn to relive the moments that seem so insignificant to us now. So don’t forget to breathe. Stress, but not too much, and just do the best you

Abstract: In the content of the Module 2 we learned about Diffusion across cell membranes. We touched on the different types of cells and their functions. How things are transported in and out of cells. Learning about isotonic, hypertonic and even hypotonic solution. This is not my first time touching on this subject in my nursing career and I learned a way to remember what happens in the different solutions. This project was to see which solution was able to pass through the semi permeable membrane. I came to the conclusion that as we learned in this module some molecules are too large to pass through membranes and some are some are small enough to pass…

We are very fortunate to have an alternative campus in our school district. Shannon High School is for students that have fallen behind in their credits, have dropped out of school and have decided to return to school, or feel like they do not fit in at one of our main traditional campuses. Shannon classes are small, and students have the opportunity to be successful and earn their high school diploma. Tammy Wright is one of the wonderful teachers at Shannon High School. Ms. Wright is a business and marketing teacher at Shannon as well as a school aged parent coordinator on campus. Furthermore, Ms. Wright serves as an advisor to the student organization, DECA. At yesterday’s town council meeting (3/6/17), the serious problems of Cottone Field took center stage. Concerned residents and students lined up to inform the council about the worn-out condition of the field which has recently caused injuries to several students. The injuries were due to the uplift of the base layer of silica sand which purpose is to act as a cushion. Without this base layer of sand, the field becomes incredible dense, providing little to no dampening of impacts. The result of this is that students are getting sprained ankles in situations where they would normally be uninjured. One concerned resident reported “their was no difference in feel between the concrete and the field once I stepped on to it”. Another reported…

“I want to see the beauty. In the ugly, in the sink, the suffering, in the daily, in all the days before I die, the moments before I sleep.” (goodreads.com) High school is expressed as the best of times, but also as the worst of times. Regardless of whether we desire to or not, it is a part of our lives we will remember forever. It is when we start to figure out who we are, and decide the life we want to live. High school was my time to stop fooling around. The first day of high school, I awoke to the aroma of coffee brewing on the stove. As I get ready to head out my sister approached me, and told me “Education is the key that opens the door many possibilities you can be and do in your near future” I was so nervous the sweat started dripping from my palms, and I suddenly felt 15 degrees hotter. I was nervous, I knew this is the time to get serious. Immediately a thought came across “ how well I do these four years can affect my entire life”. At first high school might look like a time to have fun and have no worries, which was my initial thought. Later on you start to realize that you need work hard. I thought “How would my future look? I don’t want to end up hopelessly. I want to make something of myself. Sometimes it can be hard though. I just have to work through the pain. At this point it’s make it or break it, success is my only…
