School Dress Code Research

School Dress Codes. One of the most enforced school policies of all time. Everyone has an opinion about what is too short, too long, too low, too high, too tight, and too loose. According to schools, every girl is considered indecent. Because of this, there are very specific rules about what girls can and cannot wear. Thank god, our school had a dress code, or else I would not be able to keep up with all the restrictions. The limitations are limitless. “Clothing that is too short, tight, revealing, too ripped or shaggy, or vulgar in the opinion of the House Head will not be permitted” is what the plan book states about relaxed dress days. Because of course I planned on wearing a crop top and booty shorts to school. What else is there to wear? According
At least we are allowed to wear any kind of a variety of footwear, thank you dress code officials for giving us so much lenience. Let's also address the topic of long shorts. Is that not on oxymoron in itself? Aren't long shorts just short pants? So technically we are not allowed to wear shorts. Although no matter how many restrictions are made, students violate them daily. Enforcing the dress code is very difficult, and everybody has a different opinion on it. All of this just adds up to us being blessed that we have an actual uniform. We are told what to wear on the daily. It is so awesome! We only have to worry about a couple dress downs down the road. However, wouldn't it just be better if everybody in the society dressed alike? Same shirts. Same pants. Maybe even right down to the same shoes, socks, and underwear! Might as well make all students the same height and have the same hair and eye color. It is of outright importance that we send out the message “Difference is bad!” to this generation.
